Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website     This one almost made me cry.  I took off in one direction determined to paint something a certain way...sort of like that nude in 2006 that turned into the first running group of ponies... and as I finished this painting I walked away from it disgusted and not liking what was there.  I returned in the morning to the easel and began pulling the paint and it was startling to see the brilliance on the far left corner fading into the vivid reds on the left bottom... and then how magically the wood appeared behind on the top center and right top... and green on the lower right... and then the horses began to appear. Target makes her SMILE! We enjoyed seeing her in her OU tutu during the game on Saturday and then in long sleeves for the cooler weather on Sunday.  Terry and I left around noon to drive back. Stacey has to send me photos I took with her camera. When we tried to leave on Saturday, we pulled out of the driveway and back six times, so the seventh back out... we took off and I remembered the camera about 15 miles away and we did not turn back. I was up two hours later doing our household books and my reports for my CPA and then I began a painting for the www.artistsoftexas.org Show in Dallas Nov 2nd thru Dec 31st 2010. The hotel is lovely.  It was originally built during the DALLAS tv series and we heard from our bell boy that JR's original round table conference room and office were on the top floor here.   We attended the class reunion last night. He touched the lives of EVERYONE he met every single day of his life. This morning we are heading to the VA cemetery for an honorary military funeral.  Terry will be presented with the flag from his father's service. This means so very much to him.  I told him last night that God has graced and blessed him with some of the same fine gifts of his father.  I am blessed to have him as my husband ( and sometimes there are times I bless him more than others!)  Stacey recited a beautiful poem...

His father Ben was 84 years young and his death was sudden. We were on the way back from New York as it all began to unfold.  God has a plan and ours is not to question. We celebrate the life of Ben today with family and friends at a memorial service and tomorrow we continue to honor him at a graveside service at the Veterans Cemetery in Dallas, with military honors. Ben served our country in WWII in the Navy and during the Korean Conflict, he served in the US Airforce.  Not many veterans serve in more than one service.  Thank you again for your kind emails and words of encouragement for both Terry and the family.   Laurie   “Do not let any un...

Five hours at the funeral home.  Then lunch and more packing and clearing out.  It was seven last night before we arrived home and we were bushed. Found out yesterday that the grandbaby has the chicken pox.  I am waiting for pictures.  Stace thinks it is a light case as she just had the shot for chicken pox a week ago.  Most of her pox are on her body, not her face or arms.  We are hoping she doesn't understand about scratching yet. There are many irritants in life... all of our lives.  How we react to those irritants matters.  Things can really itch and we can scratch away at the bothersome itch.  What happens next? Laurie    © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 We are in Dallas with Family.  We lost a loved one yesterday morning from our immediately family.  There is so much going on right now, tears, laughter and lots of memories.   Hospice was involved. Faith Hospice here in Dallas. They were wonderful to work with.  You could not find more tender care than we experienced with the wonderful nurses that were there for our family. I may be absent from blogging for a few days, but I will try and post here and there as I can.   There is a new angel whistling in heaven right now and holding us close as we walk this path.
