The Painted Pony Horse Contemporary Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Painted Pony' 30 x 40  Oil on Canvas SOLD April 2005 Contact me for Commission Work. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2005 My Blog My Website     Ken is here shooting the rest of my video. I have no clue what will come of this. I went from upset stomach to laughter in seconds as we worked yesterday. Today will bring more adventure I am sure. My blog is short as my time is limited. I am painting and he is filming away while I paint... not always easy I might add!!! This beauty above sold to a collector in the Caribbean in April of 2005.  It was one of the first ones I actually entitled The Painted Pony.... sort of a dance of life. Don't forget to dance today. Gather a deep breath and let it go into energy and lift those feet to soar into rejoicing to Him.... with dance. May abundance be yours today.   Laurie   “Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.”-...

Falling into Winter Herd 30 x 40 inches Horse Equine Art Contemporary Oil Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Falling into Winter Herd' 30 x 40 inches  Oil on Canvas SOLD from the blog! Thank you. Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website     This one almost made me cry.  I took off in one direction determined to paint something a certain way...sort of like that nude in 2006 that turned into the first running group of ponies... and as I finished this painting I walked away from it disgusted and not liking what was there.  I returned in the morning to the easel and began pulling the paint and it was startling to see the brilliance on the far left corner fading into the vivid reds on the left bottom... and then how magically the wood appeared behind on the top center and right top... and green on the lower right... and then the horses began to appear. There are 13 to be counted on the painting and some faintly imaging behind them in the distance. I knew w...

Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website     It was cold yesterday morning and this morning. We did not walk yesterday until late afternoon. It was 39 degrees.  I spent the day adding artists to both the www.artistsoftexas.org site and the www.CFAIntl.com site.  Hopefully I will paint today as I must must must. Ken is due to arrive tomorrow to finish shooting my bio film. I am hoping this works out to share with other artists. We will see!  I am a bit nervous about it too. We began last spring and are just now finishing it up. Things are always in His time and not ours and I am grateful someone is looking out for me and you. Believe in abundance....it is there for both of us. Laurie   “Do not boast abo...

Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website     One of those wild trips yesterday to see the TINK and her parents.   Not that we truly needed another road trip but I needed a TARGET trip and Tink is the perfect person to wheel around in the basket. Target makes her SMILE! We enjoyed seeing her in her OU tutu during the game on Saturday and then in long sleeves for the cooler weather on Sunday.  Terry and I left around noon to drive back. Stacey has to send me photos I took with her camera. When we tried to leave on Saturday, we pulled out of the driveway and back six times, so the seventh back out... we took off and I remembered the camera about 15 miles away and we did not turn back. ALL the prior turn-backs were Terry related.  Keys, phon...

Laurie God colors our lives with so much every day.  There is no humanly possible way to take it all in even if we are trying to.  Look for those special things today. Blue Horse on Orange Contemporary Equine Art Horse Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Blue Horse on Orange 2' 9 x 12 revisited and finished.  Oil on Canvas Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website     A day of painting and house cleaning. Wish it was more fun to report, but other than a tired achy body last night... I am up and ready to hit the studio again this morning to finish up some work started yesterday. I was sorting mail when I came across a 10% off shopping pass from Dillards.  Wonder what it would be like to get  a "Heavenly Pass"?   Perhaps it would work like this:  * Spend one hour in prayer = 2 points of God's rewards earned. * Spend one hour serving food at the soup kitchen = 2 points of God's rewards earned. * Spend one hour working with homeless women helping them retool to live a better life-= 2 points of God's rewards earned.  Track your progress in a daily journal and use your Heavenly Pass w...

"Rehab" Boy and Dog Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

'Rehab' 9 x 12  Oil on Canvas I had a request to repaint this subject. I had done the original several years ago and it lives in Oklahoma.  A movie director had contacted me for use of the image so I painted another one very similar for them to use the image to make a puzzle out of it for a movie being made. This new original painting is available to purchase. Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website     I received my email from Neale Donald Walsh yesterday on the "continuation day".   That is the day you die... the continuation to the next journey where you are embraced by all of those who have gone before you.  When you think about it, people are born and die daily.  We all have to do it...be born and die. Life is a continuation and death is just part of that continuation. I do believe this message came to us at the perfect time.  We k...

My Blog My Website   Yesterday turned out to be pretty relaxing even though I did work part of the day.  You know we started out with a two mile walk, a soak in the hot tub, brunch at 10, and then I finished transferring photos from my camera to the computer. At two I took a nap.  I cannot tell you the last time I took a nap. I was up two hours later doing our household books and my reports for my CPA and then I began a painting for the www.artistsoftexas.org Show in Dallas Nov 2nd thru Dec 31st 2010. Terry had dinner ready at 6:30 (fresh tossed salad with left over chicken, mushrooms, avocados, tomatoes, carrots, onions and raisins: after that it was a good book and back to sleep...

The hot tub... that is my thought this morning. It was 54 degrees outside and Terry cleaned up the hot tub yesterday and we hit it this morning.  I feel like  a wet noodle slightly overcooked, but pretty good. A shower, clean hair drip drying and a good breakfast coming up next. I wanted to blog early this morning as yesterday's blog was posted so late. That book was about to drive me insane...but it is done. Thank goodness.  Debbie Lincoln proof read it on Monday and we went to print late yesterday. Now I have to paint for the show and I will be doing that today. Yesterday while the computer was tied up with the upload to LULU, I spent part of the ...

I am ever so thankful to God for protecting us in all our travels this past month. I thought I had forgotten my own street address when yesterday I started writing down our old Dallas address.  Pretty goofy. The reunion was wonderful and the pictures ...altho not plentiful, are good.  We decided it may be our last one to attend and we will just have a gathering of our dearest friends.   We paid $$$ for tickets and neither Terry or I ate anything or drank anything but water.  AND we found out at the last moment that it was cocktail attire which I did not have with me... and we spent money on a dress... live and learn what you can do with out. This is Vicki Fletcher, me and Debbie Grayson Lincoln.  You might recognize Debbie from the Artists of Texas....

Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website   We are in Dallas at the Doubletree near Northpark. The hotel is lovely.  It was originally built during the DALLAS tv series and we heard from our bell boy that JR's original round table conference room and office were on the top floor here.   We attended the class reunion last night. I didn't get too many pictures but will put a few up after we return home. I forgot to bring my "thing" that I use to transfer images from the chip to the computer. Everyone has aged gracefully and it was such a joy to see faces you only see every five years!   They mentioned maybe doing it again in two or three years.  We are up for that. We are off to have breakfast with friends, visit Half Price Books and then grab our stuff, check out and h...

I had to switch to the OLD editor to load the picture this morning.  Short blog... guess why?  We are heading into Dallas for our High School Reunion.  The house sitter is due shortly and we will try to endure another road trip. I am pretty out on riding in the car after the last three weeks.  The bills are still rolling in. Yesterday I finished the inside of the book for ArtistsofTexas.org for November.  It took 10 hours for my internet connection to upload it to LULU.  I have to finish the cover and order one book before I order a bunch of them.  I may not blog until late tomorrow. I am not going to take my computer with me...  enjoy your weekend. Find something small and simple and give God praise for the beauty in your life. ...

'Ribbons' 9 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me to purchase by check or paypal. Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website   Painted Ponies       I thought I was getting up early this morning and would start proofing the 90 page book for the ArtistsofTexas.org Second Annual Art Show.  BUT, as I pulled open this blog to blog I faced a new picture load that didn't make me smile and took forever to get to work correctly.  If things are not broke do not fix them. Not sure why BLOG had to do this. I imagine that might be one of God's favorite mantras.   Here on earth we are all little 'tinkers'.  We 'tinker' with this and we 'tinker' with that and we end up deeper in the 'tink' pile with very complicated lives. With the passing of Terry's Dad, so much has surfaced in our lives with memories and photos and books....I am hoping Terry is inspired to let go of so much of his st...

I have 1/3 of the pages done... but much more to go and then submit it to LULU for printing.   THEN I HAVE TO PAINT for the show.  I keep singing my mantra, My God is so good, so strong and so mighty there's nothing my God cannot do.   These little watercolors were done earlier this summer. I am going to start giving a painting away every week to clean out some back work.   Terry and I have talked about traveling a bit more. He unearthed a bunch of pictures from 1926 and he wants ...

We slept on our own bed last night.  There are mountains of wash and lots and lots of boxes to unpack.  We worked over at Ben's until late afternoon and then drove home through Dallas nightmare 5 pm traffic.   God brought us home safely and Paddy was SOOO excited to see us. Today is time to get back into some semblance of work order. I have not painted or drawn really in about three weeks and I am ready to roll into work for the gallery show coming up in November at the Dutch Art Gallery. I also will be doing some new pieces for Fine Art America. I again appreciate all the wonderful emails that have kept Terry and I going over the last week.  It was a week ago that we were in Roanoke VA waiting for our car repair t...

Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website   Painted Ponies      On Golden Pond Blog   IT has been a day and feels almost like two days.  We had the memorial service for my fatherinlaw Ben yesterday afternoon.  It was a celebration of a life made special by the blessing God gave this man. He touched the lives of EVERYONE he met every single day of his life. This morning we are heading to the VA cemetery for an honorary military funeral.  Terry will be presented with the flag from his father's service. This means so very much to him.  I told him last night that God has graced and blessed him with some of the same fine gifts of his father.  I am blessed to have him as my husband ( and sometimes there are times I bless him more than others!)  Stacey recited a beautiful poem...

Laurie   © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010   My Blog My Website   Painted Ponies    Today we lay to rest a dear loved one from my husband's family. His father Ben was 84 years young and his death was sudden. We were on the way back from New York as it all began to unfold.  God has a plan and ours is not to question. We celebrate the life of Ben today with family and friends at a memorial service and tomorrow we continue to honor him at a graveside service at the Veterans Cemetery in Dallas, with military honors. Ben served our country in WWII in the Navy and during the Korean Conflict, he served in the US Airforce.  Not many veterans serve in more than one service.  Thank you again for your kind emails and words of encouragement for both Terry and the family.   Laurie   “Do not let any un...

'Zoe's Ponies' 18 x 24  Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me for commission work. Laurie    © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Blog My Website     Painted Ponies    Another long day yesterday. Five hours at the funeral home.  Then lunch and more packing and clearing out.  It was seven last night before we arrived home and we were bushed. Found out yesterday that the grandbaby has the chicken pox.  I am waiting for pictures.  Stace thinks it is a light case as she just had the shot for chicken pox a week ago.  Most of her pox are on her body, not her face or arms.  We are hoping she doesn't understand about scratching yet. There are many irritants in life... all of our lives.  How we react to those irritants matters.  Things can really itch and we can scratch away at the bothersome itch.  What happens next? Infection.  Our nails are always carrying dirt o...
