In the Wild

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 In The Wild Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   "In the Wild"  this horse painting was pure knife work  with layers of paint.  This would be strong in a 3 x 4 foot canvas. Patterned strokes of color, some are friends and some clash harshly.... Part of life! Psalms 27:1  The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? I am beginning a new commission piece. Yesterday afternoon I prepped the canvas with Scripture the client wanted on the foundation.  Then I use clear gesso with a bit of paint I used writing the Scripture.  The results left a heavenly feel to the surface.  Today I will be planning and partially dividing the area between sky and land... where the horses will be and the horizon and clouds, will come later. I will work ground up.  The conversation I h...

Shadows

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Shadows Oil on Canvas   by Laurie Pace   This precious painting entitled Shadows was packed up and recently found. It truly needs a home, but not sure it would call to many readers.  This was painted in 2004. We had our 4 year old grandson living with us and most likely He was on the beautiful back porch eating  when I took a photo of him but used it in a dramatic way. Hanging out on my easel right now and I am enjoying the solitude. I will eventually put it on my website for sale. Hebrews 13: 5-6  "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you;  never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, T he Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.    What can mere mortals do to me?” I think most of us have a need for money... it pays the bills and feeds us. Yet too often, it is ...

Bubbles to Horses

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Bubbles to Horses  Sold by The La Jolla Gallery Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Horses Dancing over the Bubbles!   The La Jolla Gallery closed a few years ago and I miss it.  I sold 15-25K in paintings almost every month at Elizabeth's gallery. Sometimes that was just two paintings!  It is rare to find a Gallery that is in a good place and your work is appreciated and purchased. Right now I am only at Mirada Fine Art in Denver and I can still show art at The Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, I just have not painted much in the last two years. Hoping to find my way back... as I begin painting again.   Hebrews 4:9-10 "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.”  I have not painted much in three years... it was my long extended 'Sabbath' for rest needed...

Early Sunflowers

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Early Sunflowers Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   This Painting of Sunflowers is by far one of my favorite. It reminds me of my grandmother's farm in Florissant MO. I have written before describing the inner circle of flowers in the circular dirt drive. As a toddler most of the flowers were as tall as I was.  There was always a mist every morning at the farm when we woke up around 6 a.m.  Morning is always good! Genesis 19:27 "And Abraham went early in the morning to the place he had stood before the Lord. "   There are places in your heart and home that you have retreated to fall upon your knees and pray and cry out to the Lord. Our lives are all complicated and busy and things come up that we have to make hard decisions. What do you do, when you cannot decide on a direction? This verse in the Bible is referring to Abraham rising and looking in a dist...

Intent

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025  "Intent" Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   This is a throw back to 2010, 15 years ago, an unusual horse painting with a touch of realism and not palette knife.  This painting has a mystery to it and it lures the eye in for discovery over the surfaces of the horse's face. We were living in Dallas in our "Frank Lloyd Wright" inspired home and I had a huge studio that was 24 x 24 ft.  (Never had it so good!!!  Had a sink for washing brushes in and I loved it the almost three years we lived there. The photo below is the room but the people after us used it as another living area.  Here is the Zillow Link. The kitchen is as we did it, and flooring was solid wood and beautiful... we had that put in. We replaced ALL the windows in the house. Some one before us took out a circular fireplace in the front living room. IT is worth a peak! Click the photo.) Matthew 7:13-14 ...

Pink Boy

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Pink Boy Acrylic on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   This horse, PINK BOY,  brings a huge smile to my face.    This was painted in 2013 after we moved from the lake to Dallas Ft Worth area.  I remember the day I worked on it and got up early to finish it the next morning.   Friday afternoon already. We ran to Whole Foods and picked up groceries and lunch to bring home. I would rather grab food (Although not whole foods plant based) there and bring it home.  I did eat a huge homemade salad before eating what I brought home. I ate mostly a pasta salad but it had olives which I do not keep in the house... a one time pleasure for sure. Also some rice but I had to have a few bites of Mac and Cheese...the stress reliever of all, and some Mashbos... not healthy made. I rarely go off diet but the stress has been back the last two days as decisions have been made over...
