“Blame it or praise it, there is no denying the wild horse in us.” ― Virginia Woolf, Jacob's Room
I was listening to the bible being read to me from my ipad while I laid quietly in my room one afternoon. You would be surprised how differently you hear everything when you are still.  It was in Genesis at the description of God speaking to Adam after he and Eve had consumed the fruit from the tree of knowledge.  The story went on to Cain and Abel and the death of Abel and how God spoke that wickedness began in childhood.  That was the part that struck me.
When I went to my bible and also searched online, I could not find that verse as it was read to me, specifically naming "childhood"  For me, I have always considered newborns and young babies pure and innocent.  What happens as they grow and learn from their families or their surroundings changes everything. Curiosity, power struggles, determination, independence... it all begins to root and the way the parents and family teach and respond to that child affects their entire life.
How do you live your life?  What comes first for you personally?  Do you return to the grocery store to pay for something the clerk missed?  Do you consider some things as your 'lucky' day and forget about what it truly right and good? Do you stop to help someone in need? Do you spend part of your day serving others that need help?
Somewhere inside of you there is a wild horse... is yours one of praise or blame?
"Immediately the father of the child cried out,  'I believe; help my unbelief'... 'This kind can come out only through prayer'" Mark 9:24, 29

Sunlit Bowl

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Sunlit Bowl Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   A Painting of soft pink and white flowers   created in 2013 brings back memories of living at Lake Cypress Springs. I loved it there. It did not love me!  Mold was my downfall.  I was prolific at painting there with my studio looking over the waters of a large catfish pond and Lake Cypress Springs. The mold pushed us back to DRY Dallas.  God guides our path today.  Memories are flooding in with the morning sun.  Proverbs 4:18    “ The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”  Today will be over 100 degrees but by Saturday the high is 79. Weather is the main talk these days. Remember I am in Texas.   We heard they may get snow in the Ohio River Valley. We are to see storms from the Pacific Hurricane coming our directio...
A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...
