Day Two Commission Horse Painting
30 x 30  inches Oil on Canvas. SOLD

This day I began laying in the basic white layers on the body and could not wait to start the face. The Golden Rod Horse Painting had a hint of an eye but nothing truly there developed and the face seemed to be without expression.  Following the rhythm of the work to jazz tunes today, the face begins to take form on this commissioned horse painting.

Friends from Kansas were visiting this past weekend and on Sunday morning at breakfast before church, we shared the lighting of our first advent candle. (Terry and I light one each morning and share out advent and bible study together)  Gary, who was visiting with his wife Ruby, was preparing to teach a Sunday School lesson on Mary and Elizabeth. I had bought Ruby and I the newest book by Liz Curtis Higgs "The Women of Christmas."  He had decided Saturday night to start reading while they turned in for bed.  He shared with us at the table that when Mary went to visit Elizabeth she actually had to travel close to 100 miles.  I had no idea about this, and did not really take the time to map out where Mary was and where Elizabeth was. I did further research on the Internet and found this article on the trip. CLICK HERE.  Thinking about traveling on foot most likely and walking 85-100 miles from Nazareth to Judaea and being pregnant... no easy way around that one. Perhaps there is a slight translation lost with Luke on Mary got ready and hurried to Judea.

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.
At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judaea,  where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth.  When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:38-41

Sunlit Bowl

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Sunlit Bowl Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   A Painting of soft pink and white flowers   created in 2013 brings back memories of living at Lake Cypress Springs. I loved it there. It did not love me!  Mold was my downfall.  I was prolific at painting there with my studio looking over the waters of a large catfish pond and Lake Cypress Springs. The mold pushed us back to DRY Dallas.  God guides our path today.  Memories are flooding in with the morning sun.  Proverbs 4:18    “ The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”  Today will be over 100 degrees but by Saturday the high is 79. Weather is the main talk these days. Remember I am in Texas.   We heard they may get snow in the Ohio River Valley. We are to see storms from the Pacific Hurricane coming our directio...
A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...
