“Life is a journey, not a destination.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

The Bible shares with us the stories of Jesus and his many journeys.  There is not much written about his life as a teen or even in his twenties. But as he rolls into his thirties, his journeys are recorded by several of his disciples giving us an insight to God's power. There are five major events in the New Testament that cover the narrative of Christ's journey.  His Baptism, his Transfiguration, his Crucifixion, his Resurrection and his Ascension.

It began at thirty as he was baptised by John the Baptist and it continued until his Ascension into Heaven. If he had not made this journey we would be pretty well lost.  Terry and I were doing research on the 'destination' being with God in heaven. We have many friends and family that are Jewish and we never talk about it. I have so much respect and love for the Jewish faith because it is what Christianity was birthed from.  The Jewish people are the chosen people, but they are also non believers in Jesus the Christ.  Most of the preaching and reaching wove in the Gentiles in the regions traveled, not the Jewish people. They doubted. They did not believe then and do not know.

Our take on what we read is that God has made this commitment and promise to the Jewish People that they are the Chosen.  “For you are a holy people unto the LORD your God: the LORD your God hath chosen you to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because you were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all people: But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers…” (Deuteronomy 7:6-8).

The Jewish people saw Jesus as a High Priest.  As we are taught,  it is only through Jesus Christ that Jews can find God's complete atonement and forgiveness.  We have to remember actually, NONE of us is done... we sin daily. We are not ready for our 'destination'.  We have to journey forward and continue to follow God's word and faithfully use it in our lives. We cannot live one day with His word and the next without it.  So we fail daily.

We read further on that it is important to realize that while God is not done with any of us, and that includes his Chosen People. It is written that Israel will finally recognize Jesus as their Messiah.

  • Zechariah 12:10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep …"
  • Jeremiah 33:8 I will cleanse them from all the guilt of their sin against me, and I will forgive all the guilt of their sin and rebellion against me.
  • Ezekiel 11:17  Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.’

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but by Me” (John 14:6)

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the ...
