"He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed of your disease." Mark 5:34 Sometimes when I start a painting I have to go at it inside out. Too often an artist draws something off and begins to do the "Paint by number" effect. It works so well with realistic art...but somehow I have moved over. I climbed out of the box. For years I strove to control my art work, from realism to slight impressionism. Painting daily has changed much of this. Hence the starting a painting from the inside out. Inside I have the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit brings the creativity t
ALERT Contemporary Horse Equine Art Daily Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD 16 x 20 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me to purchase or commission a painting: Laurie "So God blessed the seventh day and Hallowed it, because on it God rested from all the work that He had done in creation." Genesis 2:3 All during the week when you are working or caring for others I believe you are on Alert. I know I am .... it is the little stress thing that keeps you waiting and watching. You stay on edge and you are alert. You can accomplish things and mark them off your list and hopefully a bit more stress falls away. I can't help but wonder how God was as He created everything... if it was a fabulous creative high, or stress as it began to form around Him. Whatever it was, our world is an outstanding place. His work is mighty. The seventh day of rest was a day of completion and reflection. This should be a sign to us that this day should be set aside specifically to give thanks to H

One of my favorite moans is WHY? I really draw out the word when I say it and add in an expressive whine to go with it. Things just seem to happen that are off the wall or sometimes what I term as discouraging. Time to change the whining tune of "why" and make it ..."Thank You." Even though I do not have any clue "why" I am thanking God for the "WHY?" situation... I need to approach it in a different direction. I tend to be self focused and o
No. 95 Pride Contemporary Art Horse Oil Daily Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 20 x 2 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me to purchase: Laurie "My purpose shall stand, and I will fulfill my intention." Isaiah 46:10 Why are you here? Have you ever wondered why you are here on earth, or what your purpose is? I know many people who never even entertained that thought as they are really into enjoying their life and the pleasures of life around them. Personally I believe God created each of us for a purpose. In this lifetime it is our goal to find things that fulfill the purpose of our being. As we are knitted together in our mother's womb, God has put together the genetics that are required for us to live this life. There is a wide variety of personalities in our one family alone. Some recognizable traits are there and others are not. Being in the right place at the right time will result in everything falling together as it is meant to be. Our talents and contributions wi

Thank you! 18 x 24 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me to purchase: Laurie " I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.” And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth." Genesis 9:11-13 Don't you often think about the storms that roll through your life and the battles you fight against the heavy rains and winds? As a small child living in St Louis, I remember sitting at the tiny kitchen table on a chair next to the basement door....waiting. Tornado warnings were on the black and white TV in the living room; Mom was in the kitchen making food, and I sat petrified
TWO BLUE Contemporary Art Palette Knife Horse Contemporary Daily Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me to purchase and mention the title: Laurie ""They will be mine," says the Lord Almighty, "in the day when I make up my treasured possession, I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him. And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not."" Malachi 3:17-18 Sunday has caught up and I am behind and wanting to spend time out of the studio and not painting today. MORNING HERD OF NINE Contemporary Art, Palette Knife Horse Daily Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me for commission work: Laurie "For man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires." James 1:20 Icy weather is expected here today. Makes everything more difficult because folks in Dallas seem to lack the ability to understand ice on the roads. Most think it is time to go faster and slide into where you are heading. It is raining and temps are falling rapidly. The airports are in delay and schools are debating schedules for closure. Meanwhile Terry and I went to Whole Foods late last night and did our grocery shopping. We are stocked for the week and ready for the cold. Stacey will stay at home with Larry today because of the roads and we all will pray no labor in the ice storm. Today is a suggestion that you either talk to yourself in the mirror or write something down on paper. Sometimes we get "stu
Hint of Early Spring No 33 Contemporary Art Horse Equine Daily Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 inches Oil/Acrylic on Canvas Contact me for purchasing info and include the painting title. Laurie "We do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words." Romans 8:26 Early Sunday morning and it is nippy outside this morning. This past week was a hint of spring coming at 75 degrees, but now it is back in the low forties. I can feel it in the air. Stacey was glowing at her shower yesterday. Natalie and Shannon out did themselves with a plastic Ducky tub full of ice, fresh veggies and fruit and chicken on a stick. The cake was mouth watering...yummmm and I brought some home to Terry. Natalie had the nursery decorated and it was gorgeous! She is so creative and her photography is off the wall good. It was wonderful to see so many of my friends from Justin, Texas and that side of the metroplex. Wish it c
Up to No Good No. 31 Contemporary Art Horse Equine Daily Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 30 x 30 inches Oil on Canvas SOLD Contact me if you are interested in this painting, include the title in the email: Laurie "Sing to the Lord, you saints of His; praise His holy name. For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." Psalm 30:4-5 I do not know where my mind was when I painted this, but I do remember having fun. Terry was home and he kept spinning around in his chair to watch me. I had on my IPOD and was jamming and painting, oblivious to anything else. This followed a pretty treacherous week of kidney stones and busy schedules... it was time to dance. In our lives there are always things creeping in to pull us down emotionally. If we didn't have the down days we would never enjoy those up days. God can transform your day in a blink when you least expect it. If you a

HORSE WHISPERER Original Contemporary Art Impressionistic Horse Painting by Laurie Justus Pace The Owner of this painting lives in Virginia. She is preparing for downsizing in her life and contacted me that she wants to sell this original painting. It is 24 x 24 Oil on Canvas. Please email her if you are interested in this painting. NIKI This piece is soft impressionism and done with a wild brush and generous paint. I am still not adjusted to Day Light Savings Time. Between those government people and the IRS I share no love. I cannot figure this out because 100 percent of the people I visit with do NOT want DLS anymore. AND they do not want the IRS. It should be abolished and we should all pay national sales tax on what we buy. That way those that buy are taxed. You might say the wealthy will buy outside the country, but remember there are import taxes on things brought back in through customs. There has to be a better way. The next thing jumping around in my mind are the co

DEEP MEMORY Horse Oil Painting with Palette Knife by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD before the paint was set an hour! Contact me for other work: Laurie Good morning Friends! It is five forty this morning as I begin this blog. I am determined to finish a painting after I finish this blog! Morgan is still asleep. We have a doctors appointment this morning to change out his dressings etc. around eight. Then he will be painting the rest of the day. The painting above was one I finished yesterday morning. I knew as I stepped back from it that it was special. I started another to finish today...but yesterday's has such depth to it's beginnings that it is almost alive and breathing with the spirit. Not mine but His that passes through me. All morning yesterday I emailed back and forth with someone concerning my work and purchasing some pieces. When we finally spoke on the phone, they chose the guitar six pack, a commission piece from Morgan and Through the Mist, a painting destined f
MAJESTY Western ART Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 24 x 2 Contact Marnie Moran at Patina of Marble Falls for Pricing: Marnie This painting is entitled MAJESTY because as I painted it I felt the passion and fullness of the spirit within. Beauty, power and life all woven into color on my canvas... He is good. Above All Else...what do those words mean to you this morning? "God alone is capable of making Himself known as He really is. We search in reasoning and in sciences, as in a poor copy. What we neglect to see is God's painting Himself in the depth of our soul. Always be with God. Do nothing, say nothing and think nothing which may displease Him. Do this without any other view than purely for the love of Him and because He deserves infinitely more." Brother Lawrence I can only speak from my household that we fall short. REALLY short. We profess to be in His light but are we truly there, or are we chasing something we have set up in our minds? God is
MOLLY AND BEN Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 24 inches Contact me for pricing: Laurie SOLD ~ Thank you!! It's a sinus headache morning for sure. WORK TIME! Terry will be working two shifts today, commonly known as a double. He traded out to get last Saturday off for the Family Reunion. I have Morgan here on the couch still pretty banged up. Do not know for how long. Had hoped by tomorrow we would launch him back home after the doctor re bandages all the wounds. Sasha, his puppy is really cute, but a total pain as she is not house broken. I have been keeping her in the garden room because if my dogs see her they want to eat her. She already ripped up the screen door to the garden room. We have a life time warranty on this, so I will call them. I finished up a large music piece of a pianist and a violinist, well, finished part of it. Today are more varnish layers. I will be working on a few others along the way. Will be doing sketches for someone that asked me if
NUZZLE Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace SOLD 18 x 27 inches Oil on Canvas Contact me for Commission Work: Laurie Steps for yesterday were 9,575. We only walked once yesterday morning and we went a little over two miles and that was up and down steep hills here in Lake Highlands. The hills are pretty darn steep. I was worn out when we were done, but felt good all day. The leg cramps are gone at night with increased potassium, magnesium and exercise. BUT the little twinges of spasm remain. Reminds me of an eye twitch in a way but the movement cannot be seen, just a flick of a butterfly wing feeling. THANK YOU to all with suggestions. I have ordered the Gel Mat and can't wait to get it. I have a mat, but it is not very soft... I spoke with the gallery here in Dallas. The show opens on the 12th but meet the artist is on the next Thursday night. I am wild trying to finish everything and worked until ten last night. She wants it all early, not like the other places that
Through the Mist Equine Horse Western Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 36 x 2 inches Contact me for information and mention the title of the painting: Laurie Leg cramps are driving me crazy at night again. I need to increase my potassium and I need to figure out what it is I am doing that is setting it up. The entire time we were in NY I never had one leg cramp...so do I stop painting? Either has to be the expensive ergonomic chair I sit in or the standing the rest of the day on the brick floors. If you have a clue, let me know! I told Terry that this was my quest over the next few days to solve this mystery so I could sleep through the night with out the sudden cramping pain. On another level I know God is trying to tell me something and if I don't figure it out something worse will happen. So this is my quest. Being spiritual aware of His presence in my life, I know there are things before me I simply do not see. Transformations take place and we stay ignorant o
Appaloosa Horse Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 24 x 2 inches To purchase please email me: Laurie Shalom Aleichem What is peace to you? If you sit and meditate, what do you conjure up in your eye's mind as peace? One of my favorites was the first time Terry took me sailing on the catamaran, (DART Catamaran) Morgan was with us. We were up on Lake Skytook in Oklahoma. Has to be one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever been on. At one point, Morgan being the precocious child he was, had Terry pull him by rope behind the boat. Yes he had on a life jacket. We were in a quiet cove with no one else around and we were gently moving. I laid down flat on the trampoline of the boat and closed my eyes. I felt then like I was in the hand of God. Weightless and floating with the sounds of the water and Morgan's laughter echoing in my ears. That was a peace moment that took me through some of the most difficult times of my life raising three children. "I lay down and
NIGHT WIND 2008 Horse Oil Painting By Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 24 x 2 inches Hangs without a Frame Inquiries: Laurie Well, I had an email about my Sovn bed. I still have to stand by my testimony that I have not slept this well EVER that I can remember. The bed puts us both in a very deep sleep and we both wake up refreshed, rested and no aches or pains. I have to adjust that this morning as I grabbed the wrong pillow last night and my neck is not the best it could be this morning. But No More BackAches... no more snoring from Terry...yeah... and he has no more pain in his shoulders and back at all. As far as the look of the flat tire bed in our huge four poster bed, the Sovn representative came out and is getting us a deeper base for the bed to set inside our four poster bed. This will not affect anything but the look. The cost of these beds is a bit heavy on the pocket book but when we weigh the rest and better health and happier body and moods, you cannot place a price
Crossing Over Horse Art Oil Painting by Laurie Justus Pace 18 x 27 inches Inquiries: Laurie My eyes do not want to be open, but tomorrow Terry starts back to work again after six days off. He is asleep, Mom is asleep and I woke and decided to jump in here to paint before everyone wakes up. Seems like once the household is awake and there is movement, my creativity seems to disappear. Hopefully they will both sleep until at least eight or nine and hopefully the phone will not ring too early! Terry spent yesterday cleaning or unpacking or repacking a room that was stacked with models. Now they are all in my loft in our master bedroom. Here in Texas Boxes plus Boxes equals Roaches. I do not mix well with roaches. I have delayed mentioning this to him but will need to. If he built a model every week, he could live to be 140 years old. I have yet to figure out what we will do with all those models once he builds them. I will have to sneak up next week and snap a shot... then you wi
