Yesterday I wrote about Liddle, the Scottish runner from the Paris Olympics years ago...After the Olympics were over he followed his Christian background and retraced his parents journey becoming a missionary in China. At that time WW II was in full force and he ended up in a concentration camp in China with a large number of children from the school and teachers. Thankfully he had sent his wife and children home to Canada just before he was imprisoned. He and the other teachers kept the children in the camp focused and busy. It was reported that the children knew no harm or depression from this incarceration because of Liddle and the other teachers. They continued to teach and guide the children through well planned days including worship, song and pray. He had them praying for the Japanese every morning quoting the bible that we must pray for our enemies and we must forgive them. He provided a full life for those around him with his healing gift to lead. Liddle died in China before reuniting with his family; he died of a massive brain tumor.
Perhaps if we implemented this with in our own lives, the structure of prayer, morning and evening worship and kept our eyes focused on the Lord we would find a peace we do not currently know in our full days. Pray for those that have brought negativity and destruction into your life. Forgive those you need to forgive and remember to ask for forgiveness from those you have injured. Give thanks to the Lord for all He has provided in your life. Share this goodness with all you meet today.
Pray for Terry and I today as we make some major decisions in our lives.
Grace,
Laurie
"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." Matthew 5:43-45
