Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply" (Gen 1.28)

There was joy and love last night at the wedding anniversary party we attended of some close family friends. There were crowds unbelievable celebrating the happiness of the occasion. The pictures below were taken by my brother Kirk on his phone so they are a bit blurry...but the sentiment is here!

We attended a mass at St Patrick Church in Dallas as they recommitted themselves and renewed their vows before family and friends and then off to a private club for a feast you would not believe. Their eldest son, Mike, has several restaurants in the Snyder Plaza area of Highland Park... that alone should say enough...

Pat and Andy, daughter Mary Elizabeth to the left.

This is Mom and Pat together...their friendship has spanned over 40 years. They are prayer partners through life and sisters of the heart.

It is always a heart warming occasion to celebrate marriage and family. The two should be as one is a purposeful gift from God. By bringing two together as one...they should be as one protecting each other and loving each other. The perfect joy from this relationship is indescribable. It touches back on my blog for yesterday about loving those you care about and putting their needs often before your own. Commitment.

Prepare for the week today spiritually and lovingly for your family. Pat and Andy are truly blessed with their four remarkable children, Mike, Mark, Mary Elizabeth and Matthew and all the grandchildren! (They definitely had an M thing going on!) I used to baby sit these children...I think I am only a few years older than Mike though...and laughed last night when separately both older boys told me they had a crush on me when I was a teenager... made mention of my bikinis (Egads) as I took them swimming often. I never knew! I just loved them all and their family was an extension of our family.

The will of God will never lead you where the grace of God cannot keep you.

"For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.'' This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. (Eph 5.31-32)

Mixed Media Collage Horse Paintings by Texas Artist Laurie Justus Pace

© G.O.D. Laurie Justus Pace      Graphics One Design 2013 Horse Collage Fall 2013  12 x 18 inches Mixed Media on Canvas.  This was an intentional paint to imitate one of the 100 ponies I did in 2012. That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint.  This would not be a painting I would do today, but the goal was to capture the spirit of the first painting. Laurie     © Laurie Justus Pace     Graphics One Design 2010 My Website   Thinking ahead to the Thanksgiving celebration next week, I remembered back to those previous dinners that I cooked, served, ate quickly, and cleaned up.  This is how I felt.  It is probably strange...even for me but I had the best fun sketching it out and painting it. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins.  She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.  My aunt was special to all of us. She loved each of us dearly for who we were and was always ready with a hug or a 'good job'.    My memories are of breakfast pastries smeared with butter on top. It was not like they were not sweet enough as they were, but at her small kitch...

Sleeping Cowboy . Ernest Hemingway . Sunday, a day of rest . Western Painting by Texas Artist Laurie Pace

My life has the tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know?” Ernest Hemingway  I really enjoyed painting this scene. It was restful to me as the artist  and loved by our friends.  Sunday is the day of rest. I smiled when I found this in archives and thought it perfect for this day.  If you live in Texas you know that we still have 'rules' about not selling liquor before noon.  If you live in Texas and are in your late thirties and up, you might even remember Blue Laws.   Stores were simply NOT open...
