Be Strong and Courageous

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Wild Stallion  by Laurie Pace   Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be affrighted at them:  for Jehovah thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deut 31:6 This Stallion was painted back in 2010.  I am guessing it is oil by the visible layering strokes of my palette knife. The contrasts are precise and clear. The white cuts through the dark reds. The reds concentrate the motion and the shapes and everything moves counterclockwise. Temptation is calling me to paint.  Are there times recently you have needed strength and courage and felt defeated by other things before even facing the situation? Do you feel like you are going counter clockwise? Seems like life right now for many of us. If you can face what is before you knowing the Lord God has everything under control, you are then beginning to gather wisdom.   God is often stopped by our working when we get in the way of what is mean

Strength to Stand, Thy Will be Done...

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Two Black Horses  by Laurie Pace   COLOR MOVEMENT  When nothing else works! The rich colors in this painting make me hungry to paint horses again . Is it the power of the paint moving through the sky area, or is it the power of the horses running over the land below? For me it is the movement of color. There is a swatch of blue from the sky scooping down in the back side of an arch to the horses... below it picks up between the front legs of the leading horse swinging up on the left edge to the sky moving upward.  The red and yellow colors pop in on the right side edge midway up and travels between the back legs of the second horse... parallel on the ground and splitting up with dashes of red on the forehead of the second horse and on the back of the first horse. The yellow and red split in front of the horses with some heading 90 degrees straight up!  The layers of bubbling color and overlays of accent colors create the energ

Slow down. Rest In God as He works.

Benjamin Franklin Terry Texas Ranger is the name of our precious Kerry Blue Terrier.  He is in distress and we hope to be vet bound in the next hour after they open.  He is a sweet baby and spoiled and not trained but he is ours.  Colossians 1:13-14 us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love, in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins.   Not sure about you, but I always used to feel that it was my duty to pray about things and then step up to try to facilitate things to work out. After all that is what a mother does.  In a way I was trying to do God's job and arranging things to work a certain way. I have learned even again recently the Lord does not really want or need my help and He does a better job flying solo through these things. My job?  I need to praise him and only do what He seems to push me to do.

Light before Sunset, March evening sky...

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Light Before Sunset  Laurie Pace   The photo was taken back in late March as we headed home from church one Sunday night... and the sky was intensely vivid just before the sun began to sink.  It was that moment you catch your breath and hold it as you take in the beauty of the sky.   I have been catching my breath and holding it lately.   Last night I struggled at one a.m. to return to sleep. Thankfully Spotify seems to work with the sound of rain ... ten hours worth, but I am awake by six.  I try to visualize curling up under a soft blanket and sleeping near a small fire crackling to keep me warm. Recitations of favorite Bible verses in my memory wrap me in the Lord's word and I fall blissfully into a deep sleep.  " Stress often impacts on sleep quality and duration. Stress and a lack of sleep can both have a severe impact on physical and mental health. Experts recommend that people aim for 7–9 hours of sleep a night, d

Geese on the Lake and God in our hearts and lives.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Our Geese  ©2024 by Laurie Pace   1 Peter 1:22 "Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth through the Spirit in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from the heart fervently." The geese and ducks were outside my studio window overlooking the lake below in East Texas 12 years ago. I grabbed my camera and head out to snap some shots of them gathering. I could not have ask them to pose any better for this photograph!  We are seriously considering moving back to East Texas.  We are not sure we could leave our grandchildren here as attached as we are. I told Terry we could put a pond in the back yard here in the city and hope the ducks stop by... but he laughed at me.  We are but children of Our Father in Heaven. Each morning as we wake, we give thanks for our rest in the night and ask for guidance in the day ahead. It reminds me of small children gathering and sitting at the feet of their gr

First Iris... ENDURE in your faith....

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2023 First Iris 2024  by Laurie Pace   Looking out my bedroom window is a beautiful bed of Iris. They only peek out and bloom March, April and early May. My peonies are blooming too. These flowers are my vision when things begin to fail around me, or evil seems to arise.  In your life now and before, there are likely things you did not like that you had to deal with no matter what.  Over the years you learn resilience from these times and often that came at a price of knocking your head a few times, the hard way.  Today we all have to learn to endure in faith like NEVER BEFORE. What the enemy meant for evil, God can turn it around for our own good. We must trust in the Lord. Romans 8:28 ..."Or that all things work together for good to those who love God, who; or that in all things God works together with those who love him to bring about what is good for those who have been called to his purpose" Pray for my family right now.
