Our Geese

1 Peter 1:22
"Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth through the Spirit in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from the heart fervently."

The geese and ducks were outside my studio window overlooking the lake below in East Texas 12 years ago. I grabbed my camera and head out to snap some shots of them gathering. I could not have ask them to pose any better for this photograph!  We are seriously considering moving back to East Texas.  We are not sure we could leave our grandchildren here as attached as we are. I told Terry we could put a pond in the back yard here in the city and hope the ducks stop by... but he laughed at me.

We are but children of Our Father in Heaven. Each morning as we wake, we give thanks for our rest in the night and ask for guidance in the day ahead. It reminds me of small children gathering and sitting at the feet of their grandmother as the day begins and chores are handed out! The young ones seek the wisdom and love of their grandmother, just the same as we seek humbly the love and wisdom of our Father in heaven and hope for His blessing on our day before we break our fast.

We do not leave our prayers at home, we must reach out and pray for others. Pray for family, neighbors and those in need. Ask blessings in their behalf for the Lord to lead them this day. There are many in our lives that do not know the Lord, and if they have children, those children do not know the Lord or have a mother or father to pray over them each morning and each night before they sleep. Bless these children Lord, and let peace settle softly on their home and their lives... and may they know you one day as we do.

The unknown in the world rises before us, but your love surrounds and protects us. Keep us looking up toward your kingdom and your light this day. Bring us all home together as the sun sets this evening and the day closes out to nightfall. My heart is home with the Lord as Terry and I walk this life journey together on earth. While it may not include living at the lake, our memories there are precious and often thought of over the noise, the dirt and traffic of living in the city. God is with us here. We continue to abide with the Lord as there are changes in our life right now that we never expected to be. Not ever. The Lord's hand is upon through this situation and we must trust.

Please keep our family in prayer as this 'unknown' has cast a shadow across us all and sorrow in our hearts.

We ask all in Jesus' precious name. Amen.

Eph 1: 17-18 " I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.  I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people..."

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert and Shelia at the Southlake Lowe's in Appliances

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me” I can only speak for mys

Piano Girls

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Girl on Piano Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Our prayers are with the southeastern Gulf coast as a hurricane approaches. We have family and friends in this area. This painting was a more impressionistic piece than the Girl on Piano pieces from 2008-2010.  It is the tilt of the head and the precious lift of the hand with the outer small finger delicately angled. Not quite old enough to be using pedals, her feet are crossed below the bench. Back in the day of my lessons and playing in the late fifties and early sixties, young girls wore dresses. I miss those days. I still prefer dresses over pants today... even my studio jeans.  One of my modern girl on Piano pieces.... "Playing for Papa" These make incredible gifts for the holidays using music that is important to you or to the person receiving the gift. In the midst of commissions right now.  I loved playing for my grandmother and my Dad.  Shop other Av
