Two Black Horses
 by Laurie Pace

COLOR MOVEMENT
When nothing else works!

The rich colors in this painting make me hungry to paint horses again. Is it the power of the paint moving through the sky area, or is it the power of the horses running over the land below? For me it is the movement of color. There is a swatch of blue from the sky scooping down in the back side of an arch to the horses... below it picks up between the front legs of the leading horse swinging up on the left edge to the sky moving upward.

The red and yellow colors pop in on the right side edge midway up and travels between the back legs of the second horse... parallel on the ground and splitting up with dashes of red on the forehead of the second horse and on the back of the first horse. The yellow and red split in front of the horses with some heading 90 degrees straight up! The layers of bubbling color and overlays of accent colors create the energy in the painting, keeping the journey of the painted pony going in 2024.

Do you have STRENGTH TO STAND when going through bad times?

Psalm 37:24
Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for the LORD holds him up with his hand.

I was reading my daily inspiration and verse a few days ago and kept the verse and the prayer with the lesson to reflect on it. We all have dreams of what we want in life. We come to depend on people in our lives as well, just as they depend on us. So when things literally go south and sometimes upside down along they way, it is pretty certain you may stumble.

I know my reaction would be different than most saying "why me', Only God can answer any of this.  Life easily goes the wrong direction and you know it does not feel right.  I have been there for the past 18 months. Never this long before and it does not look like anything will be resolved in the near future. It seems to be the new normal. I have learned to trust and abide in God through these times.  I do cry.  The tears seem to help me shed my sorrow.  I remain deeply sad, but not depressed. Most importantly, I do not worry. God has this.

Below is part of the lesson from Inspiration:

"People are imperfect. That includes me. And it includes you.

When the Psalmist wrote Psalm 37, he knew this. The whole chapter carries the antidote to a crumbling life: Trust in God. Wait for Him. Rest in Him. Yes, evil exists. Sometimes it feels overwhelming. But God’s got this.

People will let you down. You may even stumble and let someone else down. But Jesus never fails. God is the strength you never knew you had. His promises are sure.

God is your true friend. He will never betray you or forsake you. He comforts and cries with you, embracing your friendship. No matter how you have stumbled, He showers you with love. Confide your problems to Him. He will keep you from falling."   Read the short piece.

You would love this app on your phone. It is called INSPIRATIONS with the logo a circle of white with an inner circle of colors and a white cross.  I got it from the Apple Store. A simple Bible verse is what you see first. Next you can journal and or you can read the short message that goes with the verse.

ABIDE my friends. ABIDE and wait. The Lord has a purpose for everything in our lives.

I want to send love and prayers to a fellow painter in Arkansas.  She lost a dear cousin with two of his friends. This was a major upside down in the landscape of their lives.

We also attended services for a woman that was the joy and backbone of the church I grew up in. Terry took me to the services today. It was beautiful and I was suddenly back in my childhood church... and then a reception afterward in the Fellowship Hall, where I have many warm wonderful memories.

Take the time to celebrate those around you. Everyone needs the care and the love to make it through life.  All of us face the unexpected. We can make it together with God leading us forward and friends praying with us.

"Thy Will Be Done on earth as it is in Heaven."

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the ...
