The manes are in...the wind is flying, the horses are racing... racing ahead... nose up to the wind, catching the scent of what surrounds them, but pressing forward together.... on their quest.  Abstract contemporary Horse Paintings... this one will hang for a few days as I start the next one... and then the final work to tie them together.

On the  tunes right now is "me too" by Toby Keith.

I am eager to start the second painting and see if I can tie the same energy into it continuing the weave of this one across to the sister canvas.

This is my birthday month...so many changes around the house and much happening as I leave for the Fifth Annual Artist of Texas Show at Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas.  This group of artists is amazing and the blessing of the Dutch Art Gallery in all of our lives just shows us all amazing grace.  If you are able to come to Dutch Art in Dallas today on Saturday... I will be there with Debbie Lincoln, Vernita Bridges Hoyt and all the other AOT artists.  Debbie, Vernita and I are the founders of Artists of Texas.  Amazing Grace is right and God is good.

I loved it there. It did not love me!  Mold was my downfall.  I was prolific at painting there with my studio looking over the waters of a large catfish pond and Lake Cypress Springs. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did.
