The Light Within, is one of my painted pony pulls and I rarely do them.  But I did do this one today!  There is a tale of the Painted Ponies from Golden Pond Studio aka Elle Pace Studio. Back in 2006 a nude was turned into a field of ponies coming straight at you. That is when the story began of those painted pony pulls. There is only one available in large size and it is posted on my website but is at Mirada Fine Art. This is a small one. Left over paint which led to adding more paint and presto over the afternoon hours, The Light Within was born. This is the most collected of all my styles. The second most collected in the upper market 10-22K, is the Good People Story and there is one left of that style on the website as well, 60 x 90 inches. This sweet afternoon delight is 8 x 10 inches, oil on Panel.

"Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man." I was cupbearer to the king." Nehemiah 1:11

I was humbled by the back story of Nehemiah last night, as I opened to study this last 'History Book' in the Old Testament. In the book he writes of not only the physical rebuilding of the wall around Jerusalem but also the rebuilding the spiritual restoration of the Israelites.

The one thing Nehemiah did that drew my attention is he desired only the approval of God, never the approval of the people. Nehemiah PRAYED all the time. He was a man of prayer. He was not a priest... just a man. There are ten 'prayers' in this book, including the shortest one (Nehemiah 2:4) in the Bible and the longest one in the Bible (Nehemiah 9).  There are prayers of confession, prayers of praise and singing, prayers of adoration, prayers in repentance, prayers of mourning, prayers of need (Supplication) and prayers for God to judge those who were enemies.

Nehemiah's faith was through his prayers and his actions.  If he had a slogan today, it would be "Remember the Lord, and FIGHT." Nehemiah 4:14 This is true spiritual warfare and something we face today between people in our own country.  The opposition wants to destroy the believers in our country. We can only combat this with prayers going up day and night, continually reaching out to God while living right by God's law... which in Deuteronomy you find God giving us the 10 commandments and repeating throughout the book,  "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."  Deut 6: 4-9.

Right now God is relentless in His quest for me to do things HIS way and not my way.  I cannot grow forward without letting go of the past and the present.  Often we hold tight to things that are weighting us down or cling to things that feel familiar.   We cannot thrive like that. We cannot experience the good God has for us.  Remember through your prayers God listens and provides a path. May not be what you think it should be, so relax and wait upon the Lord.

Hoping your Friday is all you need it to be. The weekend is upon us as is September, but there is no break in the heat in the Dallas Ft Worth metroplex. 100 up to 105 for the next two weeks and only one shot at rain.

Hi there, I don't always comment but always look at your blog. Horses are my favorite. Anxiously waiting for the heat to end and get more rain. We got 2 inches last week but not nearly enough as you know. We have a nephew, Nehemiah, and he fits his namesake. This made me smile.

Hugs,
Jo

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the ...
