COLORS... colors of those cool mornings in spring and early summer. The dew on the grass and the flowers open to the morning light with pink and gold skies lighting up.  The colors are balanced woven together for this beautiful piece.

2 Corinthians 4:6
"For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ."

Do not Give into Life, but Yield to God

This came to mind this morning when I was walking on my treadmill.  The life we have here on earth is easily swayed and affected by the times, by our friends and our enemies...  as well as our personal journey here on earth. We are distracted by chaos on the internet, social media,  politics, illegal immigrants taking over our communities, cartels, drugs etc.  At night we sink into a chair and never move after supper. We are 'used' up by our busy days and our busy thoughts... and we fall asleep.

How do you yield to God?
Heavy question.  It is hard yielding to a person, a friend, or a parent... so how would you yield to God? As a living person... we all have our thoughts telling us the direction we need to go to find 'happiness' or to seek our desires.  It is human nature to think of ourselves and our needs. Why should we involve God?

Believe it or not, Yielding to God will gain more for you by understanding HE is God and our creator. He is invested in you more than you are. He rules over everything here on earth and over each of us. That makes Him Lord of all.  That yield actually means SURRENDER. Surrender to Him.

Yep, that is strong language. In the Bible there are stories of God and his sometimes harsh ways.  But there are more times of growth and connection from those harsh times. His love cannot come to you unless you surrender and yield to Him. If you can take that step to surrender and receive him, you will find you begin to experience His love.   You cannot get that love any other way.

Well wait... what if you are really good person. You do for others and you also deliver meals on wheels for your community. You are kind and thoughtful... but you have not surrendered to the Father God.... again His love requires you to surrender all the way. It is different for each of us.
Give up the things you worry about. Give up being the know it all. Give up trying to control everything and every body.  Give up the friends that influence you the wrong way. Give up your irresponsible ways of weekend parties and drinking. Give up all the things that end up bringing conflict to you. This is a true that all this conflict brews inside of you.

You can have a loving attachment to God and to Jesus, but if you do not live surrendered to Him and His ways, the conflict is still there.

Yielding to God, living with Him in your life and using your free will and free choice to choose HIM.  Choose HIM always. It will not be easy. The world will try to suck you back in with jealousy, self ambitions, envy, parties, lust, hatred, jealousy... etc.  It is not easy.  Once you gather your fortitude to let go and let GOD, you will have God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit within you. From the joining acceptance of the Father, you will have exposure to the Fruits of the Spirit, which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Does that even sound like you?  I know when I think about it, it seems almost impossible. I can only tell you it works.  Some days things arise and I get stuck on reacting and moving forward. Right now I am trying to figure out the knit picking I do with the worry and wanting to control everything to do it right.   I simply have found after the last 12 months... I have no control. Only God does. Conflict can tower above me and around me. I must stay focused on God and abide with him. I cannot save myself or anyone else. Only God can save me.

Did you ever think how much you carry around inside? It could be self loathing, insecurities on who you are and what you do... feeling like a failure all inside... but outside you are controlling and loud wanting to 'get control'. How do you make this change? I encourage picking up a Bible and taking it chapter by chapter. I recommend a good study Bible. I also recommend visiting with others that are on this journey. It is life changing my friend.  Some of you think you are saved... but are still doing it wrong... including me. Meditate on the word, pray and talk to God.  Cut out the cursing and using His name in vain. Shut down evil sinful thoughts. We cannot make this change alone. We need God's help from above and the gentle encouragement of others who have made this journey.

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the ...
