This painting brings back huge memories. It is a big one, thinking maybe 3 ft x 4 ft?  It was horizontal as I began building layers of browns thinking of doing a bear. I have really only painted one bear, but I had a photo to work from and thought... why not?  Well, two thirds of the way through I was not sold on continuing the bears.  I began pulling my palette knife up and down on the area with paint, and then I flipped the canvas to vertical.  I countered in the yellows and then re-pulled grays to cover edges.  I took my knife and began carving in the thick paint. I reverted to my passion of horses and made them larger and more detailed. I imagined them in my head standing on a cliff area slightly higher up in the mountains asa the sun fell to the east and the horses are gazing out to the west. Adding blues and whites and spots of gold and yellow, the two horses gained their presence in the painting.  It went to Mirada Fine Art in Denver and sold within days!  Want a commission?  Let me know!!!

Ezra 10:4
“Arise, for the matter belongs to you and we are with you. Be courageous, and do it.”

Do you know who Ezra is?  I had to review to make sure I did know who he was in the Prophets. Ezra was often referred to as the "Father of Judaism".  Some compare him to Moses. What was clear was he was passionate about God's law. His life was lived with God's foundation beneath him and all the way through him. The Torah was his mainstay and guide. It was and is today the first five books in the old testament of our Bible.  He felt it important to teach and remind others how to live righteously during this constantly changing time in history. The Israelites were in exile in Babylon.  Ezra helped them return to Jerusalem and as a religious leader, he began a strong revival among the Jewish people as the resettled in their home country.  Read more here

I am still working on keeping God first in everything... all my thoughts, decisions and daily tasks in life. I think we have to be like Ezra and our foundation must be His Word. It is the only way!

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
