Today what are you thinking about?

Touching back on two days ago and direction and contentment... I found this quote above.  It struck a chord deep inside.   Where does my mind go with thoughts.

Easy to list.
  • Helping with a family member
  • Making things easier for my husband
  • Food prep
  • Cleaning house and studio
  • Walking Dogs and checking they are fed
  • Blogging and painting for others
  • Working for clients on websites daily
  • Just trying to finish my day to shut my brain down.
What am I not thinking about, that I really want to do. I sacrifice the very things that bring joy to me. 

Hard to list emotionally for me because I miss doing the things below:
  • play the piano daily and singing
  • play the guitar daily and singing
  • play my harmonica more. (I keep it by my computer for fast play throughout the day.)
  • writing music
  • painting something different and fun
  • taking a drive/ride into east Texas to visit our best friends
  • taking a day off to read all day.
  • going on a road trip with my husband to visit family in Illinois, or Florida, or even California.
Do you have a things to do or bucket list? I have never made one but thinking it might be time to do it. God has given me some incredible gifts with music, art and teaching. I have used them soundly over the years, but with the current pressure in the world, I have found myself staying to the first routine of GOT TO GET IT DONE, and totally bypassing the joys God provides every single second.. awake or asleep. This will be changing to daily keeping up with this list.
  • Waking up with Terry every day-together!
  • Praying with Terry every morning and every evening as we go to sleep.
  • Breaking our fast with his homemade Oatmeal together
  • Weeding the gardens and flowerbeds together
  • Cutting blooms for my kitchen from all the flowers he and God grow for me
  • Realizing we have lived in this home longer than any other and despite being a house I would have NEVER chosen to buy, we are right by family...some even next door.
  • Appreciating all God has provided as we have tackled this questionable purchase.. including patience and endurance. (The money trap)
  • The joy of grandchildren knocking at the door unexpectedly!
  • Thankful for our church home we have found, as well as Jack Hibbs on the internet.
  • Thankful for ALL the friends we still have from high school alive and well and knowing we can talk and visit or meet for lunch.
  • Especially Thankful for a friend from forty years ago, reaching out to me this past week to reconnect. TOTAL BLESSING and SURPRISE!
  • Thankful for all of our gathered friendships over the years that bring love to our life daily
  • Thankful for our loving family
  • Thankful for our health
  • Thankful for our daily needs being met
  • Thankful for absolutely everything that touches our heart or meets the eye while sharing the love with God who brought it into our lives   
I could continue this list... as it is MUCH fuller and much longer than the first list. Now, try and figure out what is on your DUTY LIST compared to your WANT TO DO LIST compared to your BLESSING LIST.  I can see I have much to think about and I need to have this Thankful list in hand.

Arrival...Refrigerator?

Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector.
