" John 10:10 The Stolen Artwork The year was 2010 It was really called "The Get Away"   and to have it really be 'stolen away' was astonishing. My work was delivered to a gallery in Santa Fe, where several other artists I knew were represented. It was a little bit quirky but seem fine as one of the artists was an Artist of Texas and I had known her quite a few years.  The gallery had on and off problems but I did get paid for sales... then the owner had to travel and left someone there at the gallery... then due to health reasons it was closing and they sent my unsold work back, but no "The Get Away" .  I truly loved this painting. There were not many people there. Today if you go on Sunday afternoon,  you could not stir them with a stick.  I had my canon camera with me and got some delightful shots of people being people.    My favorite photo I took that day was of an older woman carrying a basket with flowers in it. Looked like she bought them somewhere on the grounds or brought them in for photos to be taken. She had a large straw hat.  The next group I

" 1 Timothy 1:15 Poppies The year was 2006 My colors went opposites and bloomed into these poppies.  I went through a painting period of painting a frame around things in 2007. I painted two of these but this was the first one and my favorite! Nine blooms in the pot and one on the counter. Not really planned, but i know you see the canvas was BLUE and I did the white inset frame that shows up almost all the way around.  Notice how the white/with blue... triangles into the flowers on the left. The love of music in my life made it like a craving to take this commission of a young girl and her violin.  This painting is in my "Do it with Heart Book" and a break in life showing you more of my roots in the tech age.  I do not have much from before 1998 in photos on the computer.  My style was always more impressionism than it was realism and back then I had tasted the freedom of a palette knife and thick oil paints which in itself was an addiction.  No

No I did not use ALL of the blogs or ALL of the paintings in 2008, just a variety of ones I did that year. At this time I was painting a little bit of everything, and some were photos from prior years. I am not sure where all the photos are today of those paintings, but I am thrilled my husband found

In process above is the painting for the wolves at the opening of this blog. This is the first time I have shared this painting and I did it almost 7 years ago. I love the spirit of the wolf and how it is keenly tied to nature for survival.  When I start paintings, I always ask the person I am painting for, if they have a favorite Bible verse or poem or saying or phrase... to put on the foundation of the canvas before I even begin.  If you want a special painting, please reach out to me and let's get it started!  This has been a heart filled week of prayers surrounding life changes in our family.
