Monday Cleaning

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” John Lennon
Remember the simple days? Remember when school was a place you loved to go to learn and see your friends? Your teacher was kind and knowledgeable and life seemed simple?
Well, I feel that way about products in our lives. School has become a marathon and the amount of dangerous cleaning products fill the shelves of our stores. When I go to Home Depot and look at cleaning supplies there are massive shelves filled with products we should not even have in our homes. What happened to the Keep it Simple Sweetie days?
The shelves are filled with dangerous chemicals but they will clean your home and might even polish you off at the same time. What did your grandmother use? I still use Murphy's oil on many things. My furniture and sometimes on my floors. I keep Old English on standby for scratches, both a light and dark version. I also discovered Milsek products. They have been around since 1914. Milsek Website. They have furniture polish and multi purpose cleaner, Stainless Steel cleaner, Leather cleaner, Antique Restoration with lemon oil and Gun Stock and Barrel cleaner. What more could you want?
You can have floors, cabinets and more all clean without bad chemicals. Another old favorite is Bon Ami on pots and pans. But, I remember my grandmother cleaning with baking soda. We used it as a toothpaste and she used it to scrub pots and pans, the sink and the stove itself.
