“I heard of a tradition," said Thorne, "where the guests are supposed to make a bunch of raucous noise outside of the bridal chambers on the wedding night, until you give us candy and send us away." Scarlet glared at him. "Yeah, please don't do that.” ― Marissa Meyer, Stars Above
Yep, it is a strange one.... but sometimes an artist has to do what an artist has to do! This was way way back in 2005... 11 years ago. Part of a pop art series. I am heading into exploring another area with figurative and I am not sure how to get there and believe it may take a year to even scratch the surface. That will be a lot of painting time ahead.
Sometimes we often feel that process is the same with praying and God, but it truly is not. God knows what we are thinking before we hear it in our own brain... that little voice that talks up there. We believe we have to earn the way with God... when in fact we only have to believe and truly believe in our heart and it all happens right then. But staying connected is the hardest thing for each of us to do... staying connected with God throughout our waking hours.
One of the verses from the Bible Study that touched my heart is in Deuteronomy. Please read it through and listen to the words.
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children.Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:4-9
- Love the Lord with all your heart and soul and strength
- Let this be on your heart all the time
- Impress this on your children
- Talk about this when you are at home
- Talk about this when you are on the road
- Talk about this when you lie down at night
- Talk about this when you get up in the morning
- Keep the words tied to your hands (In what you do)
- Bind them on your forehead so you do not forget them
- Write them on the doorframes of your house
- Write them on your gate.
Sadly when I look back to the raising of the kids time... we did attend church and we prayed at meals and we thought we were walking the walk, but reading this passage I feel like I failed somewhere. He has to be woven into your life, your words, your actions, your deeds, your children, your family, your home and in your thoughts.
