A Red, Red Rose

BY ROBERT BURNS
O my Luve is like a red, red rose
   That’s newly sprung in June;
O my Luve is like the melody
   That’s sweetly played in tune.

So fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
   So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
   Till a’ the seas gang dry.

Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
   And the rocks melt wi’ the sun;
I will love thee still, my dear,
   While the sands o’ life shall run.

And fare thee weel, my only luve!
   And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my luve,
   Though it were ten thousand mile.

The red roses carry well into July.  One of my favorite poems, though a bit sad, it is beautiful.

It has been a busy weekend last weekend. We had company from Florida, Birthdays to celebrate and lots of catching up to do. In the midst of it all a calm reigned, and I know it was due to the Bible Study I have been doing. I have two more weeks and it will be through. I do know I will go back and do it over several times as it was rich with passion and wisdom.

This week in studio I am working on quite a few gifts.  Two music pieces will be first, a tiny one and a mid sized one.  Then canvas will be arriving and more gifts to paint, wolves on the prowl, buffalos on the plains, and a flower painting maybe waterlilies... still debating.  Quite a diversity. While all of this is happening, I will be doing another practice paint of Lady L and some flowers, and a gift portrait for my cousin in Florida of her brother and grand-daughter AND one more painting for her of some horses. Whew... quite a bit on the list taking place.

AND I am taking an online course with Nancy Medina, who always inspires me. I do not seek to copy her work but to learn from her. She is a great teacher.  What I learn technique wise will apply to my horses and my portraits and my flowers!

My heart is full with all the love and gifts God provides for us each day. We all get so busy we forgot the importance of what we do have and seem to focus more on what we do not have. My prayer for you my friend, is to slow down and count those blessings.

"Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him". Psalm 34:8

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
