“He loved mountains, or he had loved the thought of them marching on the edge of stories brought from far away; but now he was borne down by the insupportable weight of Middle-earth. He longed to shut out the immensity in a quiet room by a fire.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings
Wouldn't it be something to live on the mountain top... above all the sea of humanity and the drama of mankind? We cannot live isolated on a mountain top. We were created to be part of a greater existence.
Some days this 'greater existence' begins to wear on you and you long for that isolated Mountain. We have to choose what is important in our lives. We left the beauty and serenity of Lake Cypress Springs to live in a huge city crowded with cars, homes and really not nice people. I look back to the beauty and am so thankful for that time, but the beauty that calls me here from that 'mountain' is the beauty of our grandchildren.
For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope. Galatians 5:5
