My other favorite was not the 'air the family laundry'.  As kids, we certainly listened to what was taught to us...or else....   Not sure that happens so much today. We have to look at ourselves as grandparents, parents, siblings etc....

It hung around in the studio for me to study it and decide if it was working or not working. Not working was the red mane.   Here was the before: I came back to the canvas and began lightening the background in the upper left corner and reworking the manes on the horses.  I did some additional touch ups here and there as well.  The mood of the painting soared forward with those simple changes. The colors are the leaves on the trees outside my windows... some still green, others slightly brown and many with shades of red and ora...
