I am itching to paint, but still scrambling with LULU.com on the new book. I had the cover too large and had to rebuild it this morning. I hope to have this all completed in the next three hours and I desperately need to paint. Paint for my sanity!

We went yesterday to buy new pillows and came home purchasing not just new pillows but a new mattress too. Svon mattress and pillows. Very interesting experience and the bed is actually built after you buy it. We only buy mattresses every 8-10 years, and I figure it is a worthwhile purchase if we sleep better. This does not have the traditional box springs. I was VERY impressed with their system.

When I lay on the individual beds trying them out yesterday, I laid still closing my eyes blocking out all the sounds around me to really get into the feel of the mattress. This mini meditation left me so relaxed after trying out so many mattresses I felt refreshed as we left at five thirty. I ended up working last night until past ten. I truly believe if we take the time during our busy day to stop and be still, we gain in peace and energy. Who of you would not benefit from that?

That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint.  This would not be a painting I would do today, but the goal was to capture the spirit of the first painting. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins.  She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.  My aunt was special to all of us. She loved each of us dearly for who we were and was always ready with a hug or a 'good job'.    My memories are of breakfast pastries smeared with butter on top.
