In the midst of busy studio life I completed the layering on this commission painting. The size is 48 by 72 inches. (4 ft by 6 ft) I did a smaller one earlier this week to see how I liked working with the layers and glazing and it was definitely different. This particular piece does not have the music in the background, but has Lady Chatterly's Lover page by page. Personally I would have like a nude stretched across it, but this family has small children so it was best to be a horse theme.

If you really look at it you see the "HEART" or the heART with in. Combine the check of the large horse on the right and follow the heart shaped into neckline and shoulder of the running horse. This was not planned at all, it happened as I worked and I saw it as I was glazing it during the final layers. That is one of God's inputs I am often surprised with. I have written in this blog over and over that if I allow the Spirit to work things really happen on the canvas.

In your life daily God is always working behind the scenes even when you are missing him. He wants us to live our numbered days in His Light sharing it with those around us. He truly only wants us to be with out need. We seem to bring so much into our own lives and society around us flashes so much in front of us and our needs grow beyond into desires, desires that expand beyond what is necessary. To live life simply would release so much stress from us, but none of us ever seem to get to that point. Rugged schedules, appointments, late meals, missed moments of smiles and sharing tagged along with "hurry we will be late" and you have our lives. I think He wants a better life for each of us. We do not seem to want it though because we do not change unless life changes for us.

Busy Life gets a huge halt on it when there are things like a diagnosis of cancer, a heart attack, or a car accident. Then all the stuff you were rushing around doing is dropped. And for that small segment of time in your life your priorities change without a thought. God would want us to do that always. Sometimes I think he uses these things to get our attention. I know I have been batted in the head quite a few times in my life. Take time today to read all of Psalm 90. It truly sums this up the best.

Grace,
Laurie

“Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.” Psalm 90:2,4

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
