The Path
excerpt from THE ART OF LIFE
With every journey we find a path to follow. I often wonder how I get some of the places I do, and then I look back at where I have been and what I have done and I know I am in the right place.
Even when I feel I am alone, I am not. He is there. He is there in my deepest moments of fear and pain. He is there when I cry out in delight and laugh with happiness. He directs my path.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him and He will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:4-6

Just a quick note from me as I begin painting this morning. This is something that occurs on a regular basis in all of our lives.
Forgiveness. Wikipedia: Forgiveness is the mental and/or spiritual process of ceasing to feel resentment, indignation, or anger against another person for a perceived offense, difference or mistake, or ceasing to demand punishment or restitution.
"Peter came to Jesus and asked, 'Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?' Jesus answered, 'I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times (or seventy times seven).'" (Matthew 18:21-22)
I am not sure I could do it seventy times seven. My mother and my grandmother would be advising me to remove myself from the relationship before it got that far. Not only do we get in ruts and angry at folks and holding resentment in our hearts, but others get angry with us in the same way. We often stay on the one side feeling we are the persecuted person, but we have to realize even our best intentions can create hurt to others and that places us on the other side of the equation. Not only do we need to forgive others, we need to pray for others to forgive us. None of us are with out this sin. Me included.
Today as I paint my reflection will be within and my prayers will be evolving through this process of examination, confession and release.
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32)
Grace, Laurie
"And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." (Mark 11:25)
