Saturday dawns with my studio only have one dog underfoot. Morgan kidnapped Annie yesterday and took her home to help social my granddog, Jena. She is a toy poodle. Paddy would eat her thinking she was a rabbit, but Annie is a grandmother dog, she is much better with friends. So the house feels strange with out her energy here.
Volunteering is an interesting subject. Do you volunteer to do things often? Some of us do and end up giving so much of ourselves and time we lose ourselves and what is truly important. Others of us shy away from volunteering and often are not using our gifts to help out others. I am not sure how you weigh the situation to find a happy medium. I believe in giving what comes naturally. At the same time, we must remember to take care of ourselves because we truly cannot give to others if we are EMPTY!
A friend wrote me this morning already reminding me my laptop should not be in my bed with me at night. She is right. I was busy last night doing doing doing. It needs to be through out the day that we stop and rest. Meditation and prayers through out the day will allow you to stay centered in the Lord and in the journey HE provides for you, not necessarily the one you have set your goals for. Center yourself this morning in Him. Sit and close your eyes and listen...do not think, plea, pray, just listen for the Lord. They talk about NASA NAPS being powerful, wait till you do this. Stress flies from the body. Do not take it back in once you get rid of it. Hummm, wonder what we could call this...maybe MEDITATING MOMENTS. Lets do it today, all of us, take ten...ten minutes and do meditating moments. Listen the first half and then if you wish to pray, then pray giving thanks for all the good in your life. NOT supplications, requests or groaning, only thanks for everything good in your life.
I can hear my grandmother now, "COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS"; they always multiply when you do.
Shalom,
Laurie
