A Painting a Day

Thursday is dawning. This painting was finished up on Tuesday. It is the fourth in my Central Park New York Series. This series is painted with a palette knife and the paint is layered in about five layers and is very very thick.

Dreams and visions. I did begin my painting yesterday of the Wolves I saw standing in my dream. Wolves are not a common subject for me to paint. I do about one or two a year I guess. My dream was really vivid, or the image was. I will finish it up today or tomorrow and will post it for you.

Often we have dreams and visions in our life. They may not necessarily be an indicator of the future, but they are indicators of what lies in your thoughts that God knows before you know. Often these are doors we are to knock on, but they may not necessarily open. Dreams initiate thoughts and hopes. God will reveal things to us in his time. I always think back to Sesame Street when my children were young. The lesson was to teach them to think ahead. If I do this... what will happen. The story line continues showing one possibility and then reruns examining another possibility. Isn't that what we should do in our own lives?

I think the next important thing is again to always know the day is your day to make into a positive experience. Your thoughts, your words and your actions are the key to your happiness in that day and what you pass on to others.

A quick note of thanks to fellow artist and believer, Don in Colorado...he is teaching a marvelous series on James, using the life of Elijah for illustration. Terry and I are beginning it today and I cannot wait! Perhaps Don should share his teachings in a daily blog.
Shalom,

Laurie

“He came and said to me, ‘Daniel, I have now come out to give you wisdom and understanding. At the beginning of your supplications a word went out, and I have come to declare it, for you are greatly beloved. So consider the word and understand the vision.’”—Daniel 9:22-23

I really love the way you keep the contours of your shapes open and changing, but I can still tell exactly what the subject matter is- and great use of color!

Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
