Racing Time

Racing Time was painted back in 2013 during a 100 days of painting for $100.  We were moving back the the Dallas area and I cleared out canvas and paint during the move.  This horse takes the eye diagonally from the top right to the bottom left, mesmerizing the viewer with colors and thick paint! 

Isaiah 53:5 "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed." 

It has been a weekend into the mid week that my husband and I have been on our knees in prayer.  It was a battle today again for a loved one and I am weary from the battle. Only our Father can take it on, no longer are we doing it.  Addiction is a battle hard to conquer.  I never grew up in a family that faced these issues. It truly is something we cannot battle for them, but we pray for all those battling every moment of their lives.  The statistics in the USA are startling.

That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint.  This would not be a painting I would do today, but the goal was to capture the spirit of the first painting. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins.  She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.  My aunt was special to all of us. She loved each of us dearly for who we were and was always ready with a hug or a 'good job'.    My memories are of breakfast pastries smeared with butter on top.
