Summer Heat
Oil on Canvas  30 x 40 inches   SOLD  by Laurie Pace

Rain is on the way.  Normally this time of year here in Texas, the temps are 102 up to 115 or more. We have had 88-92 the past week and it will continue through the end of July. The summer heat is gone for the next week!!!

This horse painting is electrifying for sure.  Truly feels like Texas heat to look at it!

The family is still the most important blessing we have here on this earthly journey. From the Old Testament to the New Testament, the family is the core of life on earth.  Right now in our world it seems to have changed. With both parents working, and everyone chasing the dream of having more stuff, they miss out on what truly matters to live a full life without need or want. They should live a simple life with what God provides.  They also miss passing on wisdom to their children and grandchildren.

Even my own adult children nearing 50 tend to push against anything or any opinion hubby and I might share.  In today's world many adult children have lost respect for parents and grandparents. It is human nature to feel like you do know things as you see and observe them. Many things have not really changed over the centuries. Respect, kindness, and giving.... are all truly important and often not practiced.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 "These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up."

Pastor Ken wrote in the Inspirations App today,  a needed reminder of what is truly important.  That is keeping God's word alive... not just in our lives, but in our homes, with our children and grandchildren and neighbors and praying they will pass it on to their children and friends.  Pastor Ken explained it as a three part 'command' from the Lord.

1. Keeping God's word in your heart.  It is funny he mentioned the Bible to be a love letter to us... as our pastor share those words yesterday in our new membership class at Countryside Bible Church.  Jacob was sharing with us the importance of not just reading it, but thinking and meditating over it... and embracing it strongly to believe God's word and to live it and exemplify it in your life.  Then of course we need to be sowing those seeds into the lives of those in our Family.

2. Teaching God's word in your home to your children or grandchildren. The Bible is not just for a short reading of scripture every day. It is for the entire family to realize their faith needs to be lived in their actions and their words. Live the word that is in the Bible. Pray those words through out the day and make them all part of your life and in the life of those you love. God's word needs to be so deep it is part of your DNA. It only takes a spark to get a fire going...

3. Pastor Ken says LIVE the Word of the Lord every single day. Your actions and reactions need to reflect God's word. It becomes natural in a family of believers there is thought before speaking, there are prayers before taking actions, and we all learn Psalm 19:14, "May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your site, O Lord, My Rock and My Redeemer."   We can easily teach and remember "May the actions and responses I give each day be pleasing in your site. "  Actions do speak louder than words.

I am praying that you may read this and hopefully some of you will take it to heart to teach and reach out to your children, your grandchildren, your friends and your neighbors.

Pastor Ken's App has 4.9 rating... here is the website: DAILY BIBLE.  His saying is "LIGHT YOUR WAY EVERY DAY"
Even when I contacted them about some neat things on their app, his son emailed and helped me figure it out.  Pretty cool. It is my favorite app next to Streams of the Desert.

Blessings this day. "It is through repentance and rest we are saved, in quietness and trust is our strength... but you have none of it."  Isaiah  30:15    Just remember the first two parts ... and make sure you implement it in your life. They struggled all through Isaiah learning this path.

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the ...
