The Journey
Oil on Canvas  SOLD  by Laurie Pace

This painting was created in January of 2013, and it sold before it was even dry. Oil on Canvas and lots of contrasting color. I am painting again so we will see where things go!  Thankful to the Lord for giving me the passion to even open a tube of paint!

It certainly has been quite a weekend.  I was in the shower when President Trump was shot on Saturday. It was the sudden messages on my phone from my daughter that alerted me.  The divide and hate in this country is swelling out of control.

We attended membership classes at Countryside Bible church on Sunday with a heavy heart over what happened, but that is nothing they discuss here. Their promise and commitment to God is to teach (not preach) the Bible. It is from this approach to our faith, we have continued to grow in knowledge that deepens our faith. It feeds our faith and guides our every action.  There is not truly a need beyond that because worry is not part of what God wants from us. Worry over politics, money, or even the weather.

Living without worry is incredible. Serving others is fulfilling. Being part of a group of believers on the same path is uplifting.

Jack Hibbs out of California, had a truly phenomenal teaching of Deuteronomy 28 this weekend.  If you have not read it, now is the time to do this.  I am going to just post a small quoted section toward the end of this blog, but encourage you to read it, study it and pray. Pray like you never have before... on your knees for hate and ugliness to leave this country. Pray for every man and woman and child to relearn what compassion and respect mean. Respect for life, compassion for others, and appreciating our differences.

Watching this nation over the past 40 years has been an eye opening experience watching the growing distrust, the building anger, the eye squinting meanness, the attacks both verbally and physically, and the media... oh my the media.  They are perhaps the most evil of it all. They lit the fire and fan it hotly to a large blaze.  We chose, and the media is not in our home.

We used to be a blessed nation. God provided and we grew in faith as a country while bringing to our shores others that faced persecution in their country. Abundance in food, oil, and the rising economy was important for our lives.  We were a nation respected worldwide. We are no longer. Soon there will be more immigrants in some states than there are actual American citizens. Our tax money is providing everything for them, food, shelter, medical... and tax breaks too. ????

Times have reversed things. Anger, distrust, plotting, lying, killing and attacking openly, verbally and physically has been destroying the very fabric of this nation built on the backs and labor of our grandparents, great grandparents...  all the way back to the founding families. There is no sanity here in the US. Does not matter which t-shirt I wear, does it?  It does. If I wear something you don't like... I am open to critical or even physical attack from you and others like you.  There is difference in us. I am a believer of God and His Word.

This chapter in Deuteronomy explains the curses ahead for our country. Confusion will reign... food shortages, illness, disease, heat waves, bitter cold, fever, inflammation, drought, ... and then in come our enemies... they will defeat us and take over. They will cast off the elderly, split up families, and you will experience cruel oppression. These foreign people will raise up higher while Americans will fail and fall lower and lower. They also bring in a new language and no one can understand our English language at all.  They believe us to be dumb...and in some ways we truly are. We allowed this to happen here in our country.  We will be scattered from all we know, including from our families.  We will become their slaves. We will die from oppression.  (This was a small part of what is in this 28th chapter...pick it up and read it. I am paraphrasing.) The ending is below:

Deuteronomy 28: 58-68 "If you do not carefully follow all the words of this law, which are written in this book, and do not revere this glorious and awesome name—the Lord your God— the Lord will send fearful plagues on you and your descendants, harsh and prolonged disasters, and severe and lingering illnesses.  He will bring on you all the diseases of Egypt that you dreaded, and they will cling to you. The Lord will also bring on you every kind of sickness and disaster not recorded in this Book of the Law, until you are destroyed. You who were as numerous as the stars in the sky will be left but few in number, because you did not obey the Lord your God.  Just as it pleased the Lord to make you prosper and increase in number, so it will please him to ruin and destroy you. You will be uprooted from the land you are entering to possess.

Then the Lord will scatter you among all nations, from one end of the earth to the other. There you will worship other gods—gods of wood and stone, which neither you nor your ancestors have known.  Among those nations you will find no repose, no resting place for the sole of your foot. There the Lord will give you an anxious mind, eyes weary with longing, and a despairing heart. You will live in constant suspense, filled with dread both night and day, never sure of your life.  In the morning you will say, “If only it were evening!” and in the evening, “If only it were morning!”—because of the terror that will fill your hearts and the sights that your eyes will see. The Lord will send you back in ships to Egypt on a journey I said you should never make again. There you will offer yourselves for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you.

What is your choice? Can we even work on our nation and avoid this? It may be too late.  I pray you can find your way for your family in what we have ahead. Pick up your Bible and read it. Absorb it to your heart and soul. Believe it. Only the Lord can carry you through what we are facing as a nation.

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the ...
