First Rose

John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

Back... Back and painting.  A three day piece of work that delighted me to paint and be back with color lifting my mood and bringing a smile! Roses from my garden right now and inspired to paint them after seeing a beautiful rose by Nacogdoches Photographer Wendy Floyd. I love the light behind her rose and I just used the brightness in this painting! Rose paintings are a favorite. My last one was a yellow rose with water drops on it.

We have had rain and more rain...floods, hail and tornados forming overhead in the last 24 hours.  The hail was between golfball size and tennis ball size. Literally we have not seen rain like this since 2007.  I rather hope it continues...but not with the hail. In 2007 our temps remained in the low nineties instead of the hundreds and we had rain at least four to five days a week.  I loved it. I believe I would do better living further north- weather wise. I loved living in Ft Thomas KY for weather. That was pure delight.

Shorter visit today. Need to finish cleaning the house but spent the morning shooting photos of the painting, and cleaning up my brushes.

My granddaughter, Lady L, was over yesterday and began working on a new painting. I will ask her if I can share it. I marvel at her artistic ability.  I have to spend more time drawing and loosening up again.  The past 18 months have drained us. The Lord has sustained us.   I cannot wait to share her piece in progress and I promise I will! She is 15 now and almost as tall as I am.

Enjoy your week. I will not post for a few days... dog goes to the vet tomorrow and we are out of food! I see groceries in my future!!

God bless and keep you!

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

It has to head to Mirada Fine Art in about three or four weeks... meanwhile it will be banished to the room with the dehumidifier in it.  Stay tuned at Mirada Fine Art with Steve Sonnen for more details about what is happening to this "crowd" from my Good People Series.  In fact, drop Steve an email and ask to be added to the mailing list for this special gathering.  Good food, good friends and good art.   What more could you want?
