RAIN

"He went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when evening was come, he was there alone." Matt 14:23 This was the verse from Streams in the Desert this morning and with the reading adjoining it, I knew I would be sharing it with you.

Last night we had 5.25 inches of rain and glory to God, cooler temps are two days away!!! Good bye to 100 plus days!!!  I can honestly say we felt alone in the 'desert' we have lived in since June... only 1 inch of measurable rain in June... and nothing else until this last bout yesterday.

Have you ever felt so alone while upset, worried or just feeling overwhelmed? I think we all have.  Do you think that might have led Jesus to the Mountain to be alone? Alone with God.  We often forget that we are NEVER alone. It seems like our days are full of people demanding things, or working churning around us. Sometimes I feel like I cannot breath there is so much happening. When others are in your life through work, family or even marriage... they draw energy away from you and me, and our strength is sapped by the pull of others and their immediate needs.   Do you think that is what happened to Jesus?  He 'got away' to be with God, his Father who could restore him and comfort him in his human condition? In this human form he suffered from the same 'seasons' we encounter in our earthly journey. Too much ... too much social media, too much food... too much hatred... too much pressure to be something we are not... too much of everything from our own needs to the needs of others.

If you can get to a quiet place, I sincerely believe you will find the grace and strength of our Father in heaven. He fights for each of us, but we need to be still and let Him have it all. We cannot get in His way.  We need to simplify our lives and our homes.

Our God will bring the rain as we need it at the time He knows it will serve us best.  He brings the sun and all the seasons... in His time and His way.  We need to learn to focus on the simple things and stop getting pulled into the chaos around us.

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
