I am thinking the year I painted this was 2004 and probably fall. I really enjoyed the journey and the intended message with rose in hand was the thoughts we cannot read. Perhaps if her gaze was part of the painting, you might see wonderment or joy....OR you might see tears and heartbreak.  What ever it was... it is fleeting moments never to be locked in time, but we all manage to lock all these fleeting moments into feelings that linger in our minds and hearts.

Life is made up of a collection of moments that are not ours to keep. The pain we encounter throughout our days spent on this earth comes from the illusion that some moments can be held onto. Clinging to people and experiences that were never ours in the first place is what causes us to miss out on the beauty of the miracle that is the now. All of this is yours, yet none of it is. How could it be? Look around you. Everything is fleeting.

To love and let go, love and let go, love and let go...it's the single most important thing we can learn in this lifetime.
― Rachel Brathen

Layers of both pain and love are throughout our life experiences. Most times, we keep the pain close to us. Why? Why do we think of it over and over instead of breaking the cycle and letting it go?  I know from experience it is difficult to let it go because you have lived carrying it for so long, you are accustomed to the burden.  What would you think about if it was gone?

Freedom? I would promise you exactly that. There are no do overs in life. We carry joyful memories, loving memories, painful memories, and special one of a kind memories... like the first kiss, your wedding kiss, the arrival of your first child, the happiness of waking to Christmas morning or to a world of snow falling outside the window.

TIME TO BE BRAVE

We cannot stick to the pain we know so well, we deserve to leave it and walk away. It is undeniably difficult to let go of pain and painful memories. Pain has a way of burrowing deep within us, etching itself into our hearts and minds. The scars left behind are not easily erased. Perhaps, in some peculiar way, our struggles and losses become an integral part of who we are. We cling onto them as if they define us, as if they are a testament to our endurance. Yet, even in the face of adversity, life has its unpredictable moments that remind us of joy, love and happiness. It is in these fleeting moments that we find solace and strength. For me that is abiding with God. I learned to prioritize these memories, to fixate my attention on Him and the beauty that was before me, leaving the pain behind. Though we cannot change the past, we have the power to choose how we move forward, embracing the endless possibilities of the future. We must embrace joyfulness and Love!

The joyful, loving memories have a remarkable resilience that stays with us throughout our lives. The radiant warmth of love imprints deep within our souls, enriching our existence and shaping our perceptions of the world. These memories, like precious gems, bring comfort, inspire us, and become a powerful source of strength during difficult times. They remind us of the beauty of life and rekindle our hope, allowing us to transcend painful moments with grace. We learn from God the only way is through Him. This world and our time here is fleeting along with all our wants and desires. Our first and only love and true desire is to be with the Father. He is not of this world.

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever." 1 John 2:15-17

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
