When I chose the painting for my blog today, I wanted my verse from my Bible to reflect the journey of taking a trip. Everyone reacts differently to travel. If you are like me... you don't get nervous until the day of the trip. but once I begin the journey, I find a peace and calmness. This verse refers to the speaker or writer as being old and not young. I am definitely closer to the old over the young and this speaks to and from my heart to you. Every day is a journey in your life and you know not what is ahead.
"The Lord makes firm the steps the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing. Turn from evil and do good: then you will dwell in the land forever. For the Lord loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. Wrongdoers will be completely destroyed; the offspring of the wicked will perish. The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever." Psalm 37:23-29
Take each day as it comes. Set aside worry and let go of those fears that bubble up during the day. God does not want us to worry or to be afraid. When we are, we are not true to our faith and our trust in Him.
As you traverse this next week, live your faith. If you have not found the joy of the Lord, reach out to someone you trust who is a follower. The Bible is the Word of God. Why? He inspired and helped each person that 'journaled' their story and wrote of what was and still is today. While I am a Christian, I find the Chumash and the Tanach from the Jewish faith, to be the purest translation from the Aramaic Hebrew to English and the same words are there in every published edition. *It is the Old Testament. There are no 'watered down' or 'easy to read' translations in the Jewish faith. They remain the same from the beginning. It has always amazed me at the difference in MANY Bible editions and how they simplify the wording as if we are unable to read or embrace the true written words of centuries before us. (Have you ever heard of the Geneva Bible? You might look that one up!... it has a richness to it.)
What matters most is your heart and your belief in Him and in His Son and the Holy Spirit that is woven through your body. God protects you as you journey through this lifetime. Even the hard times when things fall upon you or surprise you, God walks it with you. It is "through repentance and rest we are saved. It is through quietness and trust we find our strength." IF YOU REST IN GOD... you will be saved, and if you need strength, grow quiet in prayer and trust He will provide exactly what you need.
