"Yes, I fell off the posting wagon... but for good reason. There was a computer glitch and I LOST three of the blogs I had written. Then the weekend hit and I gave up till today, Monday!  The painting above was done about two years ago and within an hour of posting it on my website, it sold and headed to Austin, Texas.   I will be painting over the next weeks.  Mirada Fine Art, my Denver gallery since 2010,  has a new show coming up. Details will follow as they release the information to the public. Time to shake things up for sure!. Happy New Year...Behold the journey ahead!"

Reflecting the Past, Living in the Present, and Allowing the future for Tomorrow

Yesterday was spent looking back at paintings dating back to 1998 area. Watching the growth of an artist finding their way. I actually loved that time because someone connected me to EBAY back in 2002 and I could paint 5-7 paintings a week and sell them on EBAY and make $100K a year. Galleries found my work there in 2007 and the journey expanded. The painting of large paintings daily sharpened growth and keened the eye for composition.  Reflecting on the early collection of awkward into ... OH... wow, I painted that?... reminded me of something a doctor told me once, Use it or loose it.  With the economy like it is, I do not believe people have money to buy frivolous things like art work...but I may be wrong.

I wandered through the past paintings about 40 minutes reflecting on art, and set some thoughts in motion for the canvas. I truly would love to hear what you might want to see me paint. Contact Here. I do believe I would like to paint something in the small range daily based on what you want to see coming from my studio and my brush or palette knife.  With your input and specific requests, it opens my heart and mind to new things.

Meanwhile this week is filled with finding canvas for the show pieces and starting on them.  I told Terry he needed to close in the back porch this week... so I had more room for easels and painting!  This smaller home does have its disadvantages.  Staying the course of today is the most important focus for me this year... not thinking about what I do not have, but what I do have. Read on...

The Chosen last night, episode 5 season 3, was really good. It brought change to my thoughts on something simple like how we say grace with our meals... KEEP IT SIMPLE. As Terry and I reflected on everything, that was something we both noticed. Gracing our food is not based on praying for everything else but the obvious. The prayer we say is to show appreciation for the food that is about to be eaten and to ask for God’s blessing on the food. It is only through the Father we have what we have. Praising Him as the Almighty and the source of all we have is important.

We all spend much of our time either over thinking things... things from the past we cannot change or let go of, to things surrounding us today that we cannot change or fix, to worry about what is to come tomorrow where we have not even arrived.  Try to keep your brain under control and keep the stress from twisting it up.

I will leave you with what Terry and I have added health wise... yes we do exercise, walk and I do standing Pilates... but on the advice or our Health Food nutritionist... he could not believe we were not taking Ashwagandha.  We started taking it and both realized the truth of how tangled and gnarled up our bodies and minds were. What we found was just short of a miracle for us.  We immediately began sleeping better. Our focus was better, our depression was lifted and there was a day and night difference. The Nutritionist reminded me that not all Ashwagandha is made the same, so we stick with the brand he recommended.  Now others in our family are taking it and realizing what happens.  With the past six years, our lives have been impacted by overload of social media, TV, news, covid lockdowns, etc... with families battling and people closing their ears and not sharing together civilly with discussions.  Whatever stress we experience, builds into our bodies with a stress level that creates anxiety. This supplement reduced that tightened feeling of stress and we found our focus opened up on each other, followed by realization that God truly has everything in his power. We wind ourselves up too much with active over thinking and expect the worse and not the best.

God is the best, the Almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth... He has this.

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone."
  1 Chronicles 29:11-12

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...

The Marsh... of our lives? Walking with God.

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 The Marsh 6 x 12 inches Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   I did two of these paintings about three years ago. They both sold immediately to a Florida Collector. Simple and elegant for a horse painting.  Ephesians 5:1-2 "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."  One of the biggest challenges in walking with God is trusting Him and not trying to out think Him or to do everything your way. It never works.  The Apostle Paul wrote of his own struggles in Romans 7 .  Romans 7: 22-23 “ So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the ...
