"I will always remember painting this piece. I had just started sharing my painting process on Facebook when disaster hit with Facebook and someone posting porn on my personal page and then six imposters hit my Meta account charging $9999 to my paypal account for advertising.
Talk about feeling trampled as FB froze me in every direction allowing those imposters to continue business... I would walk away from the computer and begin work on this painting thinking, dreaming, canvas prep... all of it and finally as you saw in the prior posts, the journey began. It is done and all through the power of God and not me. I felt lost a few times in the middle of it and He pressed me forward. I hope you enjoy it.  "

Social Security

Dang, I could never say FACEBOOK was a secure social place, could you?   Not after my month.  Still not sure today!

But I saw someone post on the up coming elections declaring the Republicans have it on their platform to do away with Social Security.  I am a double major from Stephan F Austin State University in History and in Art.  I  began my masters in History as it is a love for me.

To understand social Security you would have to look back to where it began and why.  The best thing I found with information was from the main history of SS and internet myths from the Social Security Dept. HERE.
  1.  Roosevelt signed the Social Security Bill into law on August 14, 1935, only 14 months after sending a special message to Congress on June 8, 1934, that promised a plan for social insurance as a safeguard “against the hazards and vicissitudes of life.”

Let me just sum it up. A republic does not provide social insurance to have during your lifetime. That is a socialistic view of government providing for the people.  People need government to exist in a socialist nation. They depend on them to live and exist.

We are a nation founded on rights of a republic. We control the government not the other way around. The Govt does not control us.  For the Social Security,  Democrats are saying Republicans are doing away with it. Face it, no party is dumb enough to actually do that. It would be the end of their existence.  But what was it for? We were coming out of the depression and this was a way to begin something that took money or income from everyone and re-distributed through the population. Actually more of a socialistic process, not a democratic process.

Both sides today want something different. Both sides have borrowed money for things from it, congress and presidents from both parties.   There are disagreements on the COLA's (Cost of Living Adjustments) and who they base them on... and currently that is a younger working urban clerical worker who has zero in common with the older generation and their needs.  The system is NOT stable. Funds are running out. Do you continue to prop up a system not working, or do you begin to put in place something for the future generations?

President Trump wanted to do a form of "means testing" which would reduce or eliminate Social Security benefits for those who are wealthy. The Republican platform wants to reform Social Security and re -identify it's purpose. Our Children need to realize from a young age the importance of saving for their future life in old age. We must be self sustaining for ourselves and NOT reliant on the government.  Republicans believe that workers need to be given greater control over their own retirement investments. By doing this as the lifespan continues to  lengthen, it enables people to plan for their future with their own provisions and use less of the Social Security System.

If Congress does not address this, our taxes will be raised to cover Social Security, and I am not sure about you, but I pay enough in right now! ON top of that, we now have millions of illegal aliens to support through our tax base. SO, yes, before you vote, make sure you are aware of what it truly important. Not sure about your household but groceries are up about 35% more when we shop and still rising. Gas is rising again in the past two weeks. The social conflict in our streets is being pressed in by evil forces that want us to feel vulnerable. That is what the entire pandemic was about. Making all of us feel vulnerable and believing what was put before us. We have a current person in office that struggles to function in the every day world. We need some younger people in office.

Are you ready to return to life again? If we do not go out and vote, we may find ourselves in a pickle of a situation. The eastern nations of North Korea, China and Russia look at us as 'falling' and 'failing'. Doing away with our self sustaining production of oil was a huge mistake. We are not ready for all electric vehicles. There is nothing set up nationwide to even support this. The east coast and the rest of us that have winter, will be hit by higher cost in gas and electricity and fuel for heating. I have never seen anything like this in my lifetime of 69 years. Terry and I voted almost two weeks ago.  Just make sure you vote. Make your VOTE COUNT!

Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
