I am working on a painting for Mirada Fine Art for their Holiday Push in November and December. I started this piece out more in frustration and celebration if they can be mentioned in the same sentence. Many of you know of the battle on Facebook for me and why I am leaving the platform. The best part is you will see more of my art and process here on the blog I have had for 23 years. Hence frustration turning to celebration.
Deut.31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
The painting began with just rust on the surface with a glaze to it. Next came the blues, the whites and finally the orange. I do have an idea of where I am going with this. I have an older sketch from about 12 years ago and a new sketch. On my Facebook business page I shared the two and people voted and the older sketch won out. It is what you see on this video.

I love surfacing with color to pull energy into the painting. There is no thought to it, only movement with a large brush and acrylic paint at this moment. I am waiting for some additional oil paints to be delivered tomorrow and by Sunday I will begin the oil glazing on top of this. (I will put a layer of clear gesso over this before beginning the oils.) I remain in though of going with a softer palette which is rather unknown for me with loud colors. Perhaps that is why I went full force on the undercoat. I know as a human, my thoughts of who I am are often covered up more with what I think I want people to see and believe about me. A painting is built in a similar pattern. I have not inscribed a verse on this one yet, maybe I will do that later today.
Glad to be back here on this blog and not as distracted trying to do FB! I leave behind 3500 followers on my art page and will be sharing this post and the next posts on there hoping some of them will follow me here or on my website.
I chose the Bible verse above because the "almost four weeks" I have been fighting Meta Business on FB has been over a stolen identity situation that has rocked our world. It has sucked all these days away from me....but ONLY with the help of our Father, have I had peaceful sleep all but one night. The attacks continued daily, new ones coming at us, Meta refusing to help or remedy the situation... only the Lord God has remained ever faithful and carried me through this. It further proves to me social platforms are not truly a positive place to hang out. Watching what our teens and youngest grands are doing with constant use of electronics etc they have forgotten how to do the real things that matter in their lives. This is the time they discover the true talents and gifts our Father has blessed them with. Only 15 years ago and earlier, children spent time studying music, dance, science, mechanics, woodworking, etc. Now it is all wrapped into the internet with gaming and social media. Progress, NO, CHANGE, yes. This is not what God wants for us or our children and grandchildren. Will share later what my adult children are up to!
Have a blessed weekend, and know the Father walks with you through everything. Stop today and have a conversation with Him, he is listening to you... he is waiting for you.
