"Painted in September of 2010, this painting grew in my heart and I fell in love with it the further I worked on it that fall. It was almost as if the leaves around the pond and the lake inspired the colliding colors and patterns. Living on a 5 acre cat fish pond and Lake Cypress Springs in East Texas, gave us a lot of waterfront. (as well as a plethora of snakes and oak mold.

My studio was a beautiful glassed in porch across the back of the house with plenty of room to paint big or small and have the view of the water at all times. It was more than water, it was wildlife of all sorts including those slithering ones. I painted every day and loved the continuous feed of color through Mother Nature inspiring me.

Living now in the city, things are a bit more difficult with limited space around you.  I spoke with a collector yesterday for about 20 minutes. She has encouraged me to do more florals, so stand clear soon for new ones blooming out on my canvas.

I love spending time with my clients visiting and getting to know them. They are the reason I paint.

Color is a true constant in Laurie Pace's work be it channeled through horses, wildlife, children or flowers. The journey remains exploratory with trial and error on every piece.  Life today is like it has never been before and it is a new day every day for an artist to begin again.

BE  FEARLESS

"I believe artists must never stop telling the story of the time they live in.  In our work is both the pain and joy of the day as well as the celebration of life. Each of us has their own approach to our day and to their work. I find myself often painting through frustration and often it fuels some of the best work I produce. I have found in life, frustration and challenge builds character.  Artists find sharing their days, talks, tears and joys makes them feel less isolated.  Social media often only shows the creative side, the joyful side and leaves out the true life side of challenge and work.

With me, the passion remains to be color, the actual paint is my music thrusting her forward and that is when the true dance begins. Each knife pull of paint, or brush stroke carries the energy across the surface of my work.

Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
