Starlight Run 30 x 40
“Silently, one by one, in the infinite meadows of heaven, Blossomed the lovely stars, the forget-me-nots of the angels.” Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Do you remember "Starlight Star bright, first star I see tonight..." As an adult with a passion for horses, I always dreamed of a stallion running across the field in the starlight. As far as "I wish I may, I wish I might have my dream come true tonight..." I would love to be bareback on that beautiful horse racing against the wind under Texas stars! I would love to know what you dream about.
When I paint something from music or something my dreams has inspired, I always bring to the canvas. Color is always primary. This is the beginning look to my direction as I began the canvas in the painting above... and this piece was in acrylic. I love sharing the beginnings so you can see where the color carries me. Using brush and flat strokes I begin building a foundation for the texture applied in the finished painting.
What 'carries' you in life? My first response is alway my Father God. My faith is carried throughout my work and my life... and it is dependent on His grace and spirit to guide my hands as I paint. Our foundations prepare us for what we seek in life and what we love.
In this sheltering time of Covid, find something that makes you smile and celebrate the beauty of it.
“ In that day you will say: “Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted." Isaiah 12:4
