“Nothing happened. And everything did. Your whole life you can be told something is wrong and so you believe it. Why should you question it? But then slowly seeds are planted inside of you, one by one, by a touch or a look or a day skateboarding in a park, and they start to burst out of old hulls shells and they start to sprout. And pretty soon there are so many of them. They are named Love and Trust and Kindness and Joy and Desire and Wonder and Spirit and Soulmate. They grow into a garden so dense and thick that it starts to invade your brain where the old things you were once told are dying. ” ― Francesca Lia Block, Wasteland
Last week I cried when Terry and I did our Bible study on Monday. Usually I read from Daily Word first to share the start of the day and then we are working our way through reading the Bible together. I try so hard to plant seeds of love and compassion and hope. Some days I am beat down from things said to me by people that 'love me'. I could barely make it through the reading. After someone makes you feel through words or actions over and over again how you are wrong and unworthy, you buy into it and finally believe you are worthless. God created you and you are a part of HIM and his love. Part of his LOVE and TRUST and KINDNESS, His joy, His light... and even more. You are not worthless. I am not worthless. What seeds are you planting?
From Daily Word Below:
I PLANT SEEDS OF LOVE IN MY HEART.
The seeds I plant in my garden grow into flowers or vegetables according to the divine pattern within them. Reflecting on this idea in times of prayer, I realize that the seeds I sow within my mind and heart also produce according to their kind.
So I plant seeds of love and kindness, compassion and forgiveness. I speak words of love—silently or aloud—to establish peace within and around me. I nurture the seeds of love I have sown, and they produce fruitful results in my interactions with others. This love helps me to forgive.
With love in my heart, I look beyond the seeming negative experience to see the love and divinity that exists in all. My seeds of love yield a harvest of loving experiences. Daily Word
