“One thing you can't hide - is when you're crippled inside.” ― John Lennon
So over the past three or four weeks we have been in a constant motion for a move. Our home sold the first day. The plan was to buy the house across the street to stay close to our kids and grandkids.  Things really never looked good on that front... not at all.  We were hit by one situation after another as the inspection revealed some major problems and the owner would not or could not fix them. We had to pray about it and decide if we could take it on realizing we were buying it as is.  Every day something else cropped up and everyday we took to our knees wondering if we should pull from the contract. Was their evil at work here or was God strengthening our resolve and testing us?

This is not a complaint blog but I will use our lesson as a lesson to you. Things are NOT always the same on the inside as the outside might portray.  Under the kitchen counter I noticed this small tear in the shelf liners that had been put down. I had been pretty impressed there was new stuff in all the drawers and cabinets. But on closer inspection as I pulled out the netted fabric in the drawers, they were filthy and marred beyond repair. The owner had chosen to 'cover' it all up and not clean it or fix it. Under the sink I decided I needed to pull up the tacky paper newly stuck down because at this little rip I could see mildew below it.

The entire shelf was covered and into the wall by the dishwasher. Terry began treating it with bleach.  It took two 10 hour days to clean up all the cabinets and drawers in the house and reline them with shelving covers before I could bring the kitchen over.  We are still treating this area under the sink and will until it is resolved. Many of the drawers are disfigured from the contents that festered in them. Now they are clean.
When you have heaviness or problems in your heart of spirit, they will continue to grow in the darkness eating up your life.  It is important to tend to your spirit and keep it filled with light and learn to let go of the negative ways that grow in the darkness.   Don't spend time covering up the hurt and the pain.
This was but one roadblock.  We still have a non working garage door and a leak in the sprinkler system. ...and a list that fills a page.
BUT you know what... in my next journal you will see the light that we found.  God's light pure and simple.  Until later... blessings, Laurie
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Romans 10:9-10 NIV
