“Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” ― A.A. Milne

Steve Sonnen at MIrada challenged me to some new pieces for the gallery in August.  He was wanting some of the freedom in other pieces he had sold. Sometimes that 'freedom' in a painting can seem daunting.  I have very little control over it past this point above.  I have surfaced the canvas with acrylics and once that was dry, began squirting the oils in the chosen colors all over the surface.  At this point I have control. After this I loose control and only spirit works to complete the painting.

Before I can even begin a painting I have to make sure I am in order.  God must be first, my worries must not be anywhere in the studio... and order has to be in the peace of mind as I work. Music often creates that safe place of peace for me.  Letting go and letting the spirit work is daunting. I pray as I begin and if necessary, pray along the way!

Do you realize you are braver than you think you are?

"The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son."  Revelations 21:7

Sunlit Bowl

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2025 Sunlit Bowl Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   A Painting of soft pink and white flowers   created in 2013 brings back memories of living at Lake Cypress Springs. I loved it there. It did not love me!  Mold was my downfall.  I was prolific at painting there with my studio looking over the waters of a large catfish pond and Lake Cypress Springs. The mold pushed us back to DRY Dallas.  God guides our path today.  Memories are flooding in with the morning sun.  Proverbs 4:18    “ The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”  Today will be over 100 degrees but by Saturday the high is 79. Weather is the main talk these days. Remember I am in Texas.   We heard they may get snow in the Ohio River Valley. We are to see storms from the Pacific Hurricane coming our directio...
A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...
