Painting in Progress.

“When we hold each other, in the darkness, it doesn't make the darkness go away. The bad things are still out there. The nightmares still walking. When we hold each other we feel not safe, but better. "It's all right" we whisper, "I'm here, I love you." and we lie: "I'll never leave you." For just a moment or two the darkness doesn't seem so bad.” ― Neil Gaiman, Neil Gaiman's Midnight Days
Whew... sigh... working on a painting that is in process of coming to be is comparable to being pregnant and giving birth. Where it gets rough, you know you get in the way of the progress. I love this piece as it is coming together. The mood is defined by the horse and the look in his eye. Next the strength of his legs stretching forward in speed. Not sure I can catch up with him and yet I do not want him to escape. It's all right... I tell myself talking to the painting... I am here and I do love you.
I will not leave... I will paint on.
By day the LORD commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life. Psalm 42:8Laurie
