“He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.”
― W.H. Auden, Collected Poems
Well... this is it! I finished it. Each painting takes from me my spirit, my heart and hours from my life. When it goes from my home to a gallery and then a new home later... all of that goes with the piece. It is a living part of me... in paint and canvas. It is the spirit of God working through me. It is a lasting love.
The rust is balanced out and the energy surrounding the horse does not distract from his power. As it dries, this baby is heading north to a gallery in Utah.
And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. Genesis 1:14-15Laurie
