I will never forget the day my youngest son called and said, "Mom, you know me better than anyone else, I am so tired of the dating scene and all the different personalities out there and the disappointments...can you find me a wife?"

This was in summer 2008.  We were actually on our way to the airport to fly to Washington DC and then drive up to the Finger Lake Region. My mom was with us for the 10 day vacation. It definitely gave us food for conversation during the flight.  As soon as we hit ground I started watching for 'the wife type' for Morgan.  We actually teased and interviewed a few along the way that chuckled at the request.  Life was busy and I did not forget but it was November of 2008 when I was at church with Mom that I saw this tiny cute blonde working with the youth group. I ask Mom who she was and she told me. The next question was, 'has she graduated from high school?'.  Mom laughed and said Kelly was graduating from college in December.  Putting the times together I realized that Morgan had been through confirmation with Kelly's older sister and Kelly had been the tag along little sis on all the youth group trips.

I spoke with Kelly and got her number and reminded her of who Morgan was. Little did I know she had a little girl crush on him way back then (like twelve years prior).  Lets zoom ahead. They had their first date after Christmas and went to the Symphony for Valentine's Day and to dinner. The first picture was taken in spring 2009.  Zooming ahead, they got married in 2011.

We were sad they did not get married at the church they grew up in, but they had a beautiful wedding in a chapel near downtown Dallas. They were married by the same minister that married all three of our kids.

Morgan is a financial advisor with TD Ameritrade and Kelly is a school Psychologist with a nearby ISD.  They are so precious and they are the love story for the day.

True love for February...Heart Beats!

Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
