Each day you spend time building this day in your life.  You make choices throughout the day; decisions that affect you and affect others. If your life is built on God's unconditional love, you have a wonderful foundation to work with.  We all make good and bad decisions. We cannot grow without the bad ones and the good ones leave us feeling reinforced knowing it flows from God through us.

As I worked on this painting I was stepping out of my comfort zone of explosive color. Color is the source of my energy.  Restricting myself to black, white and shades in between was really different.  As you watched the phases of this painting, you saw the ebb and tide of the work as it spanned the two weeks.  The surface of the canvas was defined by the daily layering of paint making this piece dimensional.  The palette knife sliced and layered buttery oils in syncopation to the music in the studio. An artist has the ability to correct mistakes and work around errors or uncomfortable places in the painting.  Hopefully the artist learns that their work is unique and strong in it's own expression and sometimes errors make it even more powerful. Some of my best paintings are ones that are do-overs.  God calls for us to do our best in life and for me that is the best in my paintings guided by His spirit.

My touch is the strip of blue... almost a blue with a hint of red in it.  Periwinkle is my favorite color and I chose to work with it as my one color.

For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Jeremiah 29:11 NRSVA

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

It has to head to Mirada Fine Art in about three or four weeks... meanwhile it will be banished to the room with the dehumidifier in it.  Stay tuned at Mirada Fine Art with Steve Sonnen for more details about what is happening to this "crowd" from my Good People Series.  In fact, drop Steve an email and ask to be added to the mailing list for this special gathering.  Good food, good friends and good art.   What more could you want? Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
