Man's Best Friend?
For years the dog has been called man's best friend. Dog's do not require much in life... a little food, water, shelter and an occasional pat on the head or a tummy rub. What they give back is more than just love... it is loyalty and unconditional love. They do not hold anger against you if you forget their food one morning, or if you neglect to talk to them or acknowledge them. They still love you. Dogs are every faithful and devoted for life.
Through the puppy's eyes they see you as the best thing in the entire world. They cannot wait to see you wake up in the morning or for you to give them a pat or hug. They will follow you EVERYWHERE in the house until you do acknowledge them. The dog sees you as a parent, a best friend, a partner and a soulmate.
DOG flip it GOD
Man tends to be slightly more independent than the canine population. We have a tendency to do it our way and not God's way. Despite our plans, God is waiting no differently than the dog each morning, for us to acknowledge Him with a prayer or a praise. He follows/leads us non-stop EVERYWHERE through out our waking moments and our sleeping moments.
God does not require food or water, but He does require shelter in your heart and your life. God seeks to be with you because He too loves you unconditionally whether you talk to Him or not. Take the time to share your life with Him. He is right there as He always has been. Praise what He has provided for you in your lifetime so far; praise the good and the difficult. It is through your life experiences you have become the faceted person you are today.
Just as dogs assist and help the blind, God helps us in the same way. We have no vision as to what is ahead of us in life, but He does. He will guide us as we walk ahead and He will warn us of dangers IF we are listening. If you are not listening, He will take actions to get your attention. My experience has been it is much easier to listen daily than be hit upside the head with a baseball bat.
We have two to keep up with... Paddy on the left and Annie in Terry's lap. A daily reminder of constant love.
Terry and I give thanks to God daily for being there for us unconditionally through all of our trials and celebrations.
