CLOSE YOUR EYES Yesterday I wrote about courage... and this morning I revisit it slightly...close your eyes in an instant around here and things change. With courage, I scraped the painting I posted yesterday... It was tooo...tooo... whatever, but it was not there. BUT I had to go there before I could get here.  These are the paintings that seem to do the best in the galleries...the transformed paintings that were scraped.  

I literally close my eyes and scrape the paint.   Last year I had a large one about this size that was tooo tooo... and it was scraped. It had so much paint on it I had to pull it off onto a palette.  I reused EVERY single bit of paint making three paintings out of one. Two of the three sold at Mirada this past year and the last one should sell by summer this year.

Again I think about life and how sometimes we get ourselves in such messes that appear to be right by visual appearances, but by heart and soul are totally messed up.  We have to have courage, close our eyes and pray to God...and then He will help with the direction to clean it all up.

That poor little 8 x 10 pony was loved by a company to do very large prints and it was not here for me to even use to scan... so I created something with the same heart, a kindred spirit. The underlays are pages from a western book and then torn papers of different varieties were added along with stains of paint and purposeful areas of paint.  This would not be a painting I would do today, but the goal was to capture the spirit of the first painting. We lost another dear family member this week. She has celebrated her 'continuation' day and is now with her mom and dad and her other cousins.  She leaves behind a family that will always celebrate her gentleness.  My aunt was special to all of us. She loved each of us dearly for who we were and was always ready with a hug or a 'good job'.    My memories are of breakfast pastries smeared with butter on top. It was not like they were not sweet enough as they were, but at her small kitch...
