BTTJ... that was the acronym that came to mind last night as we drove from home to our first meeting with the Franklin County Art Alliance.  We took CR115 into town to take the south Loop. (Are you impressed? We really do have a south loop.)  At the junction of Interstate 30 and the South Loop is a huge LOVE's TRUCK stop.  What more could a trucker want??? How about a full sized truck car-wash?  That didn't sound right.  How about a full size truck-wash for those 18 wheelers?  As we rounded the corner coming into the intersection there were trucks everywhere. There was a log jam of trucks making a right turn into the Truck wash. Is Thursday WASH YOUR TRUCK DAY?  So we had our first official BTTJ...BIG TRUCK TRAFFIC JAM.

"Traffic congestion is a condition on road networks that occurs as use increases, and is characterized by slower speeds, longer trip times, and increased vehicular queueing. "

If you think about it we get those BTTJ's in our lives ALL the time.  We actually create all of the traffic jams in our lives.   We are the instigators in our own lives that mess things up to have it 'our way'.  The interference is from within ourselves as we try to maneuver things they way we want them. That is when life becomes a BTTJ...Big Truck Traffic Jam. Once those 18 wheelers get jammed in somewhere, it takes a long time to un-jam them.

New thought for the new year is NOT to be negative, so can we consider a traffic jam to be a challenge?  Looking back, can you remember all those times where you put yourself into a situation that was not good or you made some bad choices?  You 'gifted' yourself the opportunity of a challenge when you did it... and you are still doing it today.  The power of decision is always your own. You cannot always change what happens to you in life because there are circumstances that come to be that you have no control over.   Your power here is how you react to the BTTJ's in life. Things are only a loss if you view it that way. BTTJ's are only there if you choose to stay in the midst of traffic to live your life.

God want you to be happy. He wants you to be joyful.  He does not want you out 'driving' in traffic and getting trapped in the world. How long does it take for you to know when not to drive at rush hour?

A Bit of Wonder Contemporary Horse Oil Daily Painting Art by Laurie Justus Pace 24 x 30 x 2 inches of thick buttery oils! Contact me to purchase: Laurie "This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it". Psalm 118:24 It was a day of celebration yesterday as Lauren Gracen was born. Stacey began her labor around nine in the morning and was ready to push by 12:15, but they held her off while getting things set up. Took four good contractions with multiple pushes and the baby was there! All grandparents accounted for to count the toes and fingers! My admiration is for my daughter and her bravery and calmness despite the tension and newness of what she faced. I was honored to be there as the baby was delivered seeing my granddaughter push out into the light and take her first breathe... and then cry... and that she did. Terry was able to participate and he and Larry helped with pushing and getting Stacey upright for the process and then Terry was hon...

Arrival...Refrigerator?

© Laurie Pace        Graphics One Design 2024 Arrival Oil on Canvas  SOLD   by Laurie Pace   Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whtever you do, and he will establish your plans."   Worrisome times laced with prayers.   The world seems like a scary place lately. Praying for everyone affected by the last two hurricanes.  My adventures today were the result of a dead refrigerator. I have loved my Kitchen Aid refrigerator very much. The first one in the 'French Kitchen' look died at 13 months. Hubby wanted the same refrigerator. Well this one made it four years and a few months. I cannot believe appliances are not made to last longer...but wait, is that because they make more money if we have to replace it in 4-5 years?  You replace your mattress at least every 7 years... and your washer dryer, you might get 7 years out of those... The stoves seem to make it closer to 10 years. We are Lowe's customers, and Robert ...
