Changes in the New Year... and Terry unloaded my new tool box. He wanted me to buy it from Sears but I didn't want to wait as long as it would have taken. I found this a Lowe's and I love it. I was able to retire my wire basket holder from the container store and my big four drawer plastic holder from Target. EVERYTHING fit in here.
We had thick Plexi-glass cut to fit the top. I have part of it long and part of it square. I use the smaller piece to mix my paints on and it is washable. The box also has electrical outlets so I have set it up with my ipod charger and player on it... and actually painted yesterday. Just a start in preparation for the big painting. I have not painted in a week and I have to get back into the swing of the palette knife before I begin the big piece.
I had two interesting emails yesterday, one from a gallery in Arizona asking to exhibit my work and another inquiry from a gallery in Puerto Rico. Two in one day is unusual but I believe I can get some things together for both of them... and a trip to both is in order.
When you were young did you labor over those New Years Resolutions? I remember doing them all the way through my twenties. Then in my forties I did the cards, which is what Terry and I will do together this year, listing our needs and wants for the new year... and then believing and trusting for it to happen.
Wikipedia lists the top goals of most Americans to be the following:
- Improve Health; lose weight, exercise more, eat better, drink less and quit smoking.
- Improve Finances; get out of debt, save money.
- Improve Career; get a better job.
- Improve Education; improve grades, get a better education, learn something new.
- Improve Self; become more organized, reduce stress, be less grumpy, manage time be more independent.
- Take a trip
- Volunteer to help others.
Lisa Blackwell with ABC News, talks about the beginning of a new year means a fresh start for all of us to start again with resolutions in place. This especially affects those without jobs. Many Americans are resolved to be more grateful for what they do have.
Journal this year if you can. Write down those needs and wants and record your journey as you grow in 2011 to be the best person you can be.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” - John 14:1-3
